Goodnight everyone and Happy Easter,

@Wanka

Sorry. I had to delete some attempts. This home setup is not even close to the modern machine I used in the daytime.

@ Equiz……dully noted….and very good advice….

…..because…you are right….volume is a comming……this site is rocking……and the respect here grows daily……not to say we wont have dissagreements from time to time….but so far every post has been on topic…..respectful…entertaining ….informative….funny….or all of the above…partly I realize because we have all been exposed to this style forum…and we all take the responsibility if posting….seriously…….what we have over vronsky IMHO…is that we all feel responsible to keep this an honest honourable site for the sharing of PM related Info…and we do it not with an Autocracy…
…but with self Policing…..great concept…..I doubt we will see much zapping….though the capability exists….and if there may be a contentious post….we can discuss its merits..and perhaps agree..it doesnt belong…..much better than an arbitrary ambiguous referree…with no feedback…..The other forum IMDB….I believe is AuDepts idea for the seperate topics to be discussed…when its up and running…..maybe could do with a name change….but should fill the bill…best FGC

@Fullgoldcrown

I like your handle too.
Fit for a king actually. ;)

articles: Search Results For bees - www.1stheadlines.com/cgi-bin/searchheds2.cgi?search=bees&stype=1&action=Search
There are many different proposed causes and mites was certainly a major one a few years back.
Many creatures besides honeybees at one time did most of the pollinating.
One of the solutions proposed is to set aside some land as fallow for natural pollinators to thrive. Another is to depend less on monoculture. This alone will make plants and soils stronger and healthier and more pest and disease resistant.

AuDept, other Admin, Site advisor (WANKA), and Site Editors (Irish and Fullgoldcrown).

Before this site flounders in its immediate and obvious success, because of a high volume of postings that are open to any topic, I hope that site administrators, advisors and editors  can quickly establish the proposed chat forum in which  friendly and important banter and exchange of information not directly related to the PM/other metals/energy/currency/commodities/overall markets can appear in a separate place for us to be together as a community with common interests.  And of course keep separate the paradise that is now operational, in which persons posting can focus on any market sector they wish, but with postings focussed on the market, rather than on the more social, everyday-life things that could be off to the side in a separate chat forum.  I know that I submit postings that would end up going to either of these two destinations - the serious market discussion versus the friendly, informative and important community chat forum.

I’m not suggesting that either of these two streams of postings is more important than the other.  But I do think that if they get mixed together, especially as participation in Goldtent accelarates (and also especially since this site professes to be open to any topic), we are going to get bogged down in having too much volume to wade through to find the market-related postings we want to monitor daily.

 I will contribute to both streams mentioned above and am simply making a suggestion to help this site be  a time-efficient vehicle for its users.  Next to my Pm holdings, time is my most precious commodity.

 I congratulate all persons who had a hand in creation of this excellent site.  And yes, when the time comes, I will contribute financially to this site’s maintenance if it lives up to the high expectations I now have.  Have a good weekend, all.

The farmers market

here in Olympia just opened up.  Gonna do some querying of the local honey sellers there and see what is up.

mysterious dying of bee`s culture from “Der Spiegel”
Albert Einstein`s quote says it all.

“If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.”

(beesting}
Funny thing is, here in the South Pacific the local ferel {wild} Honeybees seem to be thriving. {???}

The local wild Eurepean Honeybees here, on the island I’m on, were imported by mission-air-ees approximately 50 years ago, and because the natural expansion of Honeybees is done by swarming, when the original colony becomes overcrowded, the European Honeybees I’ve seen in the fields are off-spring of the original imported bees.

Which means {imho} something un-natural is killing U.S. Honeybees at an alarming rate.

Opinion:
I just finished reading a National Geographic article which blames chemicals, pesticides use, and heavy metal concentrations for many human illnesses and birth defects……..If humans are affected by industrial fallout,,,,,,wouldn’t Honeybees be affected also?

Summary:
I would say the long term affect of pesticide {a blowing in the winds} is killing the bees.

P.S. To Questionaire, did you pollinate Almonds this year?

Just_Buy_It April 7, 2007 at 21:57 pm

Buy honey now and keep fingers crossed, seems like all we can do for now.

Happy Easter and Best to you and family,  friend  :-)

Deadeye

Ya know Deadeye, I like to eat cherries and plums and apples and pears and and and…….I sure hope they are around in the future.

“disappearing bees in Texas”  I think our canary has keeled over.

Plenty of yellow jackets around every year.  Too bad I don’t think they have any redeeming feature.

ipso_facto @ 21:51 pm.

All we can do is to stay on top of it for now and keep our fingers crossed. I’m going to stock up on honey next week…that’s for sure. And I’m glad we have people like Farmboy, Moggy, Irish, Equisetum, etc under the TENT….they are a lot closer to the problem and, hopefully, will keeps us informed. RedneckOkie and Aggie may have something to add also from time to time.

Best wishes, friend, and a Very Happy Easter to you and your loved ones.
