Elaborate please. If you mean my opinion of a big bump - has nothing to do with deflation.

aurum

Aurum…….in the big picture…..the issue is time.

…….as far as a big deflation goes.  But as far as trading/ investing over the next several months, IMO, the issue is critical.

Farmboy (21:35) Thanks for posting that Jim Willie article. I have just drawn it to the attention of two other investing members of our family, especially Willie’s concluding section on oil and gold prices to expect. Best wishes.

GR

I think the issue here is time. You are talking relatively soon - I am talking decades from now - deflation.

If not, then, we as friends will just disagree.

aurum

Aurum…………No, it will be a deflationary scare….

…after this intermediate-term PM run, just like the other intermediate-term tops.  Da boyz need to rotate the liquidity in a cyclical kind of way.  Ditto, May of 06.  All they do is take the foot off the accelerator and let the deflationary backdrop do its thing………….Down to retest the old Gold historical high, before the true parabolic move in Gold comes to town.

All a replay of the 70’s Gold Bull…….as history repeats in a Precialicious Metalistic kinda sort way.  Or in JS’s words………we’re going to see a lot of volatility.

I do have much faith in some of the younger generation. My son, 26, is one and is much sharper than I was at his age. When my generation was feeling it’s oats and thought they could all change the world in the 60’s, it somehow morphed from altruism and concern for our environment and fellow travelers on planet earth into an orgy of sex, drugs, rock n roll and general narcisim. There were such hopes in the beginning of the counterculture movement, yet it somehow became a cohesive mass of angry youth who were simply anti anything which did not provide instant results to their selfish desires. I cannot pinpoint exactly when it changed. Maybe it was the shootings at Kent State. The war in Vietnam was always a target, but the malicious nature of those days really asserted itself after those shootings. It was simply, as Abie Hoffman so well stated, “Revolution for the hell of it” from that time on. Anarchy was actually mindlessly celebrated for anarchy’s sake alone.

I could never understand it and had real problems with the embacing of Marxism. Richaard Nixon was the devil-Marx, Che, Lenin, Trotsky the saviors of the collective utopia that they seemed to invision for us all. I watched it all unfold. Unfortunately, these idealistc anarchists grew up to be the politicians, educators, lawyers and other assorted drivers of political thought and political correctness we all suffer under today.

With the exception of the numb bunch of self-indulgent, me-first youths of today, there is hope. The pendulum is swinging the other way. I see the lights from time to time..the young Ron Paul supporters, the dissatisfaction with the welfare mindset, the thieves in all areas of governmene only interested in personal power, the blatant lies nd deception of those in positions of power or seeking power…you get the idea..list is endless. The media celebrates te vapid stars and starlets, the sports stars and rappers, but I think a lot of tehyouth see the emptiness of it all. The bottom line is that some do see and understand. Unless they can be silenced by such tactics as those embodied in HR1955, or shouted down by the lemmings who follow the PC crowd, there is hope. I doubt if it will change significantly in my lifetime, but with enough courage, fortitude and disgust they have the power to return this nation to sanity. That is, if the present crop of leaders do not destroy the fabric of this nation beyound salvation.

I can only pray that people basically want freedom more than they desire the care of a nanny state meddling in every aspect of their lives. It is too late for us to change it. We have done what we could to instill values, ethics and some historical truths to our children. It is now their turn to make use of that which we have taught them.

My best to you and yours.Sinbad.

GoldenAge @ 22:26 pm

Your post brings a smile to the face, and a smile to my heart this evening.

Perhaps, the next generation, will by some internal instinct, understand more better, the Freedom….that so many who have gone before, have fought for.

I am convinced, that IF America is to return to its former values….it will be the young, who will take up the call of Freedom, and lead the way. IF, there is to be an America….in the years to come…..it will rest upon thier shoulders. Of that, I have no doubts this evening.

Proud of what you are doing. Proud of your efforts. Proud, that you have ‘edcuated’ many of us, even those at the Tent. Lets hope, that a real difference comes to pass. I sometimes worry, about putting all our hopes, in one man. (Easily removed from the equation). But I think the ideals, thoughts, of Ron Paul, will always ring true.

My best to you, and the endless job you do….Farmboy

Farmy

“Hope for the younger generation, I have. Its the current generation, the over 40’s group, those living in Mcmansions, they really cant afford, driving expensive poor mileage gas hogs….still hoping for ‘Social Security’ checks…..that I have my doubts about.”

Well said! I have serious doubts about that group myself. They scare the heck out of me…

“The younger generation, as the article states, have few ‘illusions’ of ever getting a ‘retirement check’ from the govt, or elsewhere. They may not all have the answers, but somehow, many are asking, the right questions. I will know, that one day when I have to stand in line at the coin store….behind a lot of younger folks….that they have ‘got the message’.”

Farmboy, there are already hundreds of these twenty-somethings here in New Hampshire, who migrated as part of the Free State Project (see below), who have already started an alternative barter economy based on mostly one ounce silver rounds. Poor things, a few silver one ouncers is all most of them can afford, but they are doing the best they can with what they’ve got… I have met dozens of these kids at Ron Paul events here in the Granite State and they are delightful. And I must say they are very polite to the elderly like myself. I am proud to have these kids as neighbors!

re indicators

they work if you are right on the bigger picture - trading range, bull move, bear move

and that is the whole key (another IMO) to investing

aurum

GR

Wow I haven’t done so much disagreeing since I was in school. No it won’t be a deflationary scare - it will be deflation. But that is decades away at the end of this K wave.

aurum

Fully

Now we agree.

Two things that I worry about for the folks here.

1. We all tend to get over jubilant at near tops and then folks buy and then sell on the next correction losing money. Per Ment - buy on the dips - add on the dips.

2. Calls which put you into a certain time frame. I believe this is a long bull. I think as I have bet that we will see $850 pog this year. But I do not think we will rocket up really high any time soon - that will happen to numbers I can’t imagine but over decades.

IMO. IMO.

aurum

Aurum..interesting you say that..indicators work till they dont..

….but when they dont the really dont…..I Know Samb is a good trader but all I’m saying is the only thing that works consistantly in this Bull market …is Buy and Hold…..and Bitch……hehe

….for me thats better than being out on the sidelines ..

..we had a bump on August 16th…..but those who keep the faith are no worse for it today…(just a few months later)……

Sinbad @ 21:39 pm

Hope for the younger generation, I have. Its the current generation, the over 40’s group, those living in Mcmansions, they really cant afford, driving expensive poor mileage gas hogs….still hoping for ‘Social Security’ checks…..that I have my doubts about.

The younger generation, as the article states, have few ‘illusions’ of ever getting a ‘retirement check’ from the govt, or elsewhere. They may not all have the answers, but somehow, many are asking, the right questions. I will know, that one day when I have to stand in line at the coin store….behind a lot of younger folks….that they have ‘got the message’.

It will be interesting, If some of us are still around, to see how they spend the ‘inheritence’ left behind to them. Somehow, I got the feeling the next ‘Gold Rush’, will be brought about by those younger, smarter, than this current generation. Somehow, I think the pages of the Gold Tent, if indeed left for prosperity….will come in handy to them.

One of the persons I met last weekend while visiting with Silver Rider and wife, was a 28 year old man, a solid Ron Paul supporter….even had a Ron Paul Shirt on……and I sat in both amazement, and some feelings of guilt, as he expounded on the need for this country to return to the ‘Constitutional Laws’, Faith in God, and how the dollar….was on the way out. I thought back to my own younger years, of the twenties, and even thirties. I thought….how much more this young person knew, understood. And I told him that, and wished him well.

Too be really honest tonight, the current generation is too old to pay the price, in any form, to make significant changes. Badly needed changes. Save for our support, and vote for Ron Paul….it will be left to those that follow, the younger ones….to take back this country, and the beliefs….that made her, what she once was.

Apparently, there is a ground swell movement in the hearts, and minds of a lot of Americans. Lets hope….our legacy is one of …we got you started in the right direction. Failing to accomplish that mission….lets hope we can provide them a chance at freedom, and life, in another place. Lets hope, we do not completely let them down.

Best to you this evening, Farmboy
