Go Slow With The Southern…LOL.

For better or worse…slow, is the Southern way. Seems most everything south of the Mason Dixon line….is a little slower. (grin)

Sure to drive a lot of folks nuts. Sure, some might even think we (Southerners) really are ’slow’. Mostly though…I think, we mostly, just dont git in any rush, about most things. Seems, some Country Music Artist even wrote a song…..”I want a man with a slow hand…LOLOL)

Tried my best to explain this Southern Attitude to Irish. How folks in the south…were a little slow. How that went double for those on Belize/Island time. Figure, Irish has figured out what I been trying to tell him. (Grin)

Hard I am sure for a lot of folks to grasp in this day and age of instant grits, instant potatoes, instant….anything. Figure, a lot of folks will soon enough ‘git it’, as this ole world, at least the ‘economy’ takes a step off the high speed Fall St Economy. Where things, where value, will once again, come back into fashion. As many figure out….aint no ‘Free Lunch’, no matter how much the govt wants to hand out. Figure, some will come to an understanding…..that the sweat and hard work of a few, can no longer carry the debts, the lazy lifestyles, of many.

Figure, the ’somethin for nothin’ days, are about over. (Can already hear the knashing of teeth even). Thanks to the being involved in the Ron Paul effort….have learned, been surprised even, by the number of Black folk….who are willing to vote for a man like Ron Paul….who wishes to get rid of so many ‘Govt Handouts’. Seems, the times are changin….we will soon see, if it is enough.

But personally, I think I will switch sides. Vote for Hillary. Kinda like the idea of ‘Free Health Care’, and the govt takin care of me. Pretty sure, if I heard her right…..she gonna fix all that ails this country. Her and Bill. And dont believe the Lou Dobbs poll tonight at all, whatsover. Poll said that 84 percent of Americans felt like those running for public office….had thier own best interests, thier own political carears….ahead of doing what was ‘right for the Country’.

I think. Americans are ready to face reality. Knuckle down, and be responsible for thier own ‘retirement’. Actually, start having positive savings accounts like thier parents, and grandparents did. Think most Americans are ready to save up a 20 per cent down payment for a home. Set aside part of thier weekly earnings…for a rainy day. Yep, pretty sure, Americans NOW ‘git it’.

Course, I was pretty sure the other night, I was gonna win at Scrabble, ….and low and behold, if Farmgal, didnt come up with some use for the double word, triple letter ten point ‘Z’s” she was stuck with. ???

Seems I get blind sided more often than not these days. Which only confirms…..how I wish….things would go a little more slow. (grin) Best, and hugs to the Mrs…Farmboy

Got several of the Foxworthy books. Have yet to add that one…’Granny dont bend over..” to the fine collection.

After my triple bypass, a ‘friend’ gave me a copy of the ‘They pulled my heart out and stomped that sucker flat’. A say…’friend’ this evening, cause that book liked to have killed me. Or at least I thought so. Had to read through his wit, with a chest full of just recently sawed in half, chest bones. I swear, some of the ’staples’ the docs used to patch me up afterwards, must have popped loose with my laughter. Can remember reading. laughing, and crying tears of pain, all at the same time. Which, come to think of it, kinda reminds me of owning some of these Jr mining companies. (grin)

If I understood your posting correctly, I think you were asking for clarification of my commitment to holding physical gold and silver in relation to my commitment to holding PMs in the form of ‘paper’.  For our family accounts, ‘paper’ means only shares or warrants, as we do not deal in other kinds of paper transactions.

Without calculating it precisely today (I did it a couple of weeks ago for a Goldtent poll), we are split just about equally  50 %  physical (gold one-ounce Maple Leafs,   silver bars,  and silver one-ounce Maple Leafs  combined) and 50 % shares of PM-related, copper-related, and molybdenum- related junior mining companies based in Canada and trading on the Toronto exchange.  This 50/50 split between physical and ‘paper’ is considering only what is held in a so-called trading account.  The account is used for occasional trading but it does contain several PM stocks that have been there for some years now.  So that is one way to address your question, which makes it look like our family is reasonably well committed  (50 %)  to ownership and self-storage of physical silver/ gold. 

However, the figures are different if we count my wife’s registered self-directed retirement  plan, which contains  stocks and warrants related to PM companies, uranium companies, and income-producing energy trusts, but holds no physical silver or gold, not even shares of Central Fund of Canada (CEF.TO).  If this retirement account is factored in then our investments are only about 10 % physical and 90 % ‘paper’.  The 10 / 90 split is what I recorded on Goldtent’s recent poll.

So that’s how we sit at the moment.  The only thing I can add is that in the past 12-18 months we have been accelerating our purchase of physical, mostly silver rather than gold, by making sure that we always buy some more physical whenever we sell some stocks or warrants.   This is a gradual process that we will continue.  In fact, we intend to continue accelerating the purchase of physical, so that its proportion in the total portfolio will increase in future months.  The other change I foresee is that when we sell our home, which harbors a greater equity than our current investment accounts and physical holdings, then a significant part of that realty sale proceeds is expected to go directly into purchase of physical silver and gold. 

In sum, we do have a plan by which, in the end, our heirs will have available to them a significant holding of physical gold and silver.  I hope this addresses  the point you were seeking at 1:17 this morning.   Best wishes.  Equiz.

My point this evening, is I was watching …?? Hard to rightly say, cause I think the channel flipping button on the TV remote control should recieve its very own “Nobel Prize’. But anyways, heard today, someone commenting on all these so called ‘Experts’. Experts on sports….(Patriots where to win hands down…according to the Experts who KNOW these things) Experts on Politics….(Boy, have there been some surprises for those this year already). And Experts on things financial…..LOLOLOL…Seems no matter what the topic or subject, someone somewhere is always finding these ‘Experts’ to advise.

Not been a very good year for ‘Experts’. Have you noticed that?

I mean, even the leaders of ‘Experts’ like Bernanke….that once said the ’subprime problem’ was “containted”, “would not spill over to other markets”…makes me wonder if Websters might want to change thier definition of ‘Expert’ to mean….one who really has not a clue. Or, at the very least…one that makes a statement, not necessarily true, but intends to calms folk’s nerves.

Beginning to think the best of the Expert’s….have a worn dart board, and in the end, that is how they arrive at thier ‘Expert Opinion’. Think, a whole lot of folks are beginning, to think for themselves. And if that catches on like the Winter Flu season…..Whoa buddy!! I figure next to a well armed citizen….the last thing those in power want to see, is folks thinking for themselves.

Some tell me, that life is made up of seasons. An ole country boy can relate to that, as seasons come and go, warming global or not. Here in these parts, Seasons….well, they are kinda like the sunrise or the full moon appearing on a regular basis. Pretty much can count on seasons. I think, we are entering a season of ‘Change’. And think, those that have established for many years, the ’status qou’, hate any changes. Changes to thier plans. Seems, change is the monkey wrench, in thier carefully laid out plans. ?

And I think, Change, is not much of a listener, or has to obey, the plans of Mice & Men. I think change….some good, some very bad….is in the deck of cards now played at the table. I think hope, has a brother….called change. I fear it, change, much less, than those that wish to continue thier plans of paper promises. Fact is, in thinking about it tonight…..I think change is/will be good. As long as folks begin to think about, study, some things that need changin.

Just some simple thoughts, Best, Farmboy (Who thinks, even Taterhead, has figured out, some things are about to change, and appears to be digging a few more extra holes of late.) Course, what he intends to eventually do with all those buried tools…..well…??…its one of those things that keeps me up at night. (grin) So ‘Here’s Your Sign’….and it reads….’Change’.
