Do I think some one would notice If Ron Paul had a showing of 5-10 mil people show up on the lawns of Washington DC.  It would be kind of hard for the media not to cover it, But I think some how they sure would play it down as —“There is only a relatively small group of “VOTERS”  who very seriously believe that there is a high level of risk that the “POLITICAL” system could break down. You only need a relatively small group to believe this to move the “COUNTRY IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION” In other words, the “CONTITUTION IS JUST A  G_D PIECE OF PAPER”  and their  behavior reflects the trivial obsessions of a discredited fraction of “THE PEOPLE’S” opinion.

silverfox52 that 21:45 was priceless. Could I borrow that with copy wright to U. Cheers mm

I just left a meeting tonight of the delgates that will be voting this saturday.  The topic of the march was a interesting point we covered well tonight. We talked about renting an RV or 3 and driving up to D.C with people and signs galore.

In the truck earlier I hear a caller to a talk radio program ask why he and other media personel were not covering Ron Paul as much as the other canidates. In response to this question, the talk radio personallity said ” If Ron Paul were not mathmatically eliminated from the election he would be more than happy to talk about him more.” While a brokered convention is looking less and less likely I would have to agree he is almost eleminated from the election.

The correct question from the caller should have been why did you ignore Ron Paul over the last half a year? As I stated to Silver_Rider in a post the other day, it is not the chance of putting Ron Paul in the White House that drives me or many of his supporters. What keeps hope alive for us is the message we are trying to get out. While the message has been ignored by some and blacklisted by others, there are those who have heard and will continue to hear going forward.

I don’t know if we will win the fight here in America. I don’t know what the future holds for this country. The only thing I concern myself with are the following. A) What can I do to help make this a better place for my children. B) If I can’t be a part of making this a better place for my children where do I go to insure they will have a viable shot at freedom and prosperity for their future families?

Everything else is secondary. As Mel Gibsons character once said in the movie the Patriot. I am a parent, principles are not something I can afford. I can teach my children principles and I can teach them to become outstanding human beings. There is a time to fight and there is a time to make sure your family is safe and secure. I wish, hope and pray that it could be here in America. It just seems to me these wishes are falling further and further from actually becoming a reality.

I truly hope I can look back one day and say I was 100% wrong. I hope!

Best Regards this fine evening…

P.S. Fully.. Glad to hear about your daughter. I trust you and your family are doing well.

     good one

Wanka, good speculations

Your views and mine mesh very well. I could envision a mania-peak that would be a brief spike high, rather like how gold was only over $700 in the last bull market for 6 or 7 days, spiking to $850+/-. I assume that very few people bought gold at the $700+ level. So it would be in your scenario where gold spikes to $3,000 before retreating to a sustainable level such as $2200-2500. Very few people would buy at the absolute high, whatever that number proves to be. So, while it would be a bummer to have the value of your holdings fall from the $3,000 an ounce to $2500, let’s face it, anyone who has been riding the bull for any length of time would not be under water, and would have a considerable profit.

As you note, your $2200 figure is based on today’s inflation adjusted figure that is the equivalent of gold at $800 in the 1980s. By the time we reach 2010 to 2012, and the dollar continues to decline (as most of us expect it will) that figure may be $3000 or more. I am curious to hear what JS gives for the true target he has in mind. He has mentioned that he will only discuss a figure higher than $1650 when gold has crossed the $1,000 level for the second time. If the dollar goes into hyper-inflation, our target numbers will have to be significantly increased.

It makes no sense that gold would fall back to “historical norms” since the falling value of the dollar has already made the historical norms obsolete. Unless the dollar returns to the levels it enjoyed during the years of the strong dollar policy (highly unlikely) then the price of gold will never be as low as it was during those years. In fact, it is unlikely that the dollar will strengthen enough to get gold back to the $700 level! At least not for any extended period of time. No, gold and oil prices will both remain at a much higher level thanks to the devalued dollar. Furthermore, worldwide demand is higher with the emerging market demand for PMs, mine production is not likely to increase substantially for a number of years, and central bank manipulation has nearly run it’s course. So, it is safe to assume that gold will find a high level and stabilize at that plateau.

I often scratch my head over the professional analysts who truly expect gold to drop back to $500 in a year or two and remain there. Do they think the dollar is going to strengthen enough to make that possible? And unless that is what they believe, why would it be any more likely that gold return to $500 than that oil return to $40.00 a barrel, and I don’t hear any of them predicting that!

strikerrod @ 21:27 pm. - LOL!

Got this in a E-mail today & not sure how long it’s been around–
The Mounties always get their man!

After numerous rounds of ‘We don’t even know if Osama is still alive’,
Osama himself decided to send George Bush a letter in his own
handwriting
to let him know he was still in the game.

Bush opened the letter and it contained a single line of coded message:

370H-SSV-0773H

Bush was baffled, so he showed it to Condoleezza Rice. Condi and her
aides
had not a clue either, so they sent it to the FBI. No one could solve it
at
the FBI so it went to the CIA, then to MI6 and Mossad.

Eventually they asked the Canadian RCMP for help. Within a minute RCMP
emailed the White House with this reply:

‘tell the president he’s holding the message upside down’

Hey AP — just curious.  I like your idea of 1:1…but at a potential turning point like this, you could almost do a 3 plat short to a 2 silver long (3:2) ratio or (4:3, 5:4, etc.) to grab a little extra juice before options expiration?  Just an idle thought…from somebody with no contract trading experience here.  Those are some of the strategies that i use in the equity options market… but there you get to layer in the time & volatility factors too. [told ya i was gambler…]
