I am a “heavy” stevia user….but I only like the refined white stevia extract….I do not care for the drops or other forms…   I have checked into growing Stevia..but am not sure exactly how to do do the refined product….as that as probably all I would be interested in using for myself.

Folks in general seem to be onto the fact that perhaps nutrasweet, sugar, equal, saccharin, etc are not exactly good for you…but stevia seems to suffer from lack of recognition…few have heard of it.    I was turned onto it about 4 years ago by an alternative health book.

ipso_facto (12:01, 12:28), EAGLE-EYE (12:19) As a former shareholder of Sherritt Gordon a long time ago

I have thought of this company several times today with the Cuba news of Fidel fading from the picture.  Sherritt have been in Cuba for some time, as have several other Canadian entrepreneurs.  Today I have been able to only imagine the salivating in several board rooms as other entrepreneurs sharpen their pencils to figure out how to proceed with new ventures in Cuba.   The Canadian companies already operating in Cuba will, I expect, have new confidence in their business plans for operations on that island.

But I expect that the salivating today will have been more intense in boardrooms in the US for companies that see future opportunities in Cuba.  I think US entrepreneurial efforts in Belize are going to look like baby steps once US and Canadian corporate development gets into high gear in Cuba.  Perhaps I should add, heaven help the Cubans, for they know not what could descend upon them - that is, unless Chavez has some key resources and industries tied up already in Cuba.

Does anyone know if there are  significant gold and silver deposits in Cuba?  Cheers.  Equiz.

OT - you aren’t gonna believe this

that be more like flipping MAN HOLE COVERS!  :-)    Yes, I know about the not thinking, I mentioned a month or so ago that I had put in an order for PAL at 3.50 and thought it was just good for the day BUT BUT BUT I somehow hit GTC and was the owner of 500 shares the next day.   Not too disappointed as PAL is currently 8.05 - best trade of the year!  Woohoo!

As a friend, I would be willing to take those June gold contracts off your hands at 440 as you asked, just so you don’t have to sweat out the action tonight!  Smiley 3d yeux dollars.gif

Dozens of U.S. banks will fail by 2010: analyst

Between 50 and 150 U.S. banks — as many as one in 57 — could fail by early 2010, mostly those with no more than a couple of billion dollars of assets, Cassidy said. That rate of failure would be the highest in at least 15 years, or since the winding down of the savings-and-loan debacle.

“The initial round of failures will come from smaller banks with limited access to capital and overexposure to commercial real estate,” Cassidy said.
