circumstances under which the IMF has sold gold over the past several decades, as JS outlined today, it surprises me that IMF seems to have an endless supply of gold to be able to keep putting it up for sale.  I gather from the article below that IMF acquired most of its gold holdings prior to the April 1978 Second Amendment of its Articles of Agreement.  I’m surprised that the supply of IMF gold has lasted as long as it has, especially as I have not been able to determine from the article below nor from limited other searching where and how new gold is pouring into IMF. 

 Maybe new gold is always pouring into IMF but I havent found it easy to find evidence of that, even though we do hear about it each time that IMF sells some of its gold.  Does anyone have an opinion on my assumption that under present  cicumstances in IMF’s Articles of Agreement they are going to run out of gold at some point?  How soon that might be, my assumptions do not tell me ?  Equiz.

you’re asking me “how high is up?” gold is a lagging indicator so your can readily see that it can go to the stratosphere when the rotation gets to the pm. almost every consumable commodity has reached unheard of levels. i personally think that all the fiat the us has sent overseas is coming back to purchase something of value. maya had an interesting post about the fed restricting the fiat supply rather than expanding. that would explain why bonds are so high with a falling dollar. two opposing theories. bonds and pm don’t run the same way too long. somebody knows something or is playing both sides, just in case inflation or deflation gets out of hand overnight.

had a 5 point rpw in the lumber after a big selloff. you wouldn’t think lumber would have much upside potential, but that’s how bottoms are formed. this one looks like it may get stopped out and a second attempt needed.

been working on the new place and have had grandchildren here for a while. looks like i missed some good posts by “the moose” whoever he is.

another commodity no one seems to mention is paper pulp. the chinese are gobbling up the world supply just like they did the copper. pulp is just under $900./metric ton. extremely high in historical terms.

Today an article appeared on yahoo (below), describing Norway’s preparation of a vast underground storage facility to preserve seeds.

It is curious, one might ask, why this sudden interest in preserving seeds with such an expensive technology?  It is also curious that just at this time, in the current issue of Nexus magazine (march-april) there is an interview with a source that identifies  himself as a Norwegian politician.  This source discusses the building of deep, extremely sophisticated underground shelters by the Norwegian government.  Their purpose is to shelter a small percentage of the population.   They were guided to do so, he says, by the USA.  The reason is the approaching pass-by of Earth by the brown dwarf, Niburu, with its satellites, Dec. 22, 2012, part of a 3600 hundred year cycle known to the ancients, and undoubtedly by elite circles.   Those familiar with Sitchin’s works will be familiar with some of this history.

I have begun to gravitate heavily to the position that this possibility must be factored seriously into our attempts to fathom the pattern of ongoing events, economic and otherwise.   If the US government is operating on this principle, clearly debt does indeed mean nothing.  Everything must be devoted to maintaining an economic and political order to the last possible moment, and the technological capacity to preserve as much as possible.   Reportedly, the brown dwarf/star is only barely visible at this point in the southern hemisphere.  By May, 2009, it begins to be visible in the northern.  There will be a point where it is enormous, nearly a second sun.  If so, there will be a point where everyone knows what is going on.  Now order becomes essential.  Rioters in the cities and those whose tendency is to take the apparent opportunity to lawlessness would not be tolerated.  This could be the reason for the prison camps we discuss here on occassion.
