Another Water/ Power Grab
Went to a post primary Ron Paul meeting last night to discuss how we can make a difference in the future. In the course of that meeting I learned that our state senate pasted a bill (SB189) to authorize our county commission to regulate water supplies. “These measures may consist of permitting procedures, conservation measures, or ordinances designed to protect and conserve water.” Sounds innocuous doesn’t it. Sounds like the government is just trying to help doesn’t it. Well I heard that they could come onto your property and put a meter on your private well and charge you based on usage. I heard that in Idaho similar legislation was used to prohibit people capturing rain water. You had to let it soak in the ground (could someone from Idaho verify).
This bill passed overwhelmingly in the Senate Yeas - 27 Nays - 0 Abstaining - 1
The house bill HB506 is still in committee as of 2-28-08.
Good Grief!
We might have to gently remind our legislators of Bolivia.
