Thanks for the Gary North ‘Countrywide’ post. I guess ‘Thanks’ is in order? IF a man can be thankfull while enduring, watching, wittnessing….the destruction of a Country, and its Financial System. ??

Been in a ‘funk’ of sorts last couple weeks. Have yet to really get a grasp on all the emotions, gut feelings, …the questioning of thoughts. Countrywide’s woes, preceded by Enron, and Worldcom…and..??? And every time the same exuse….the industry experts ‘could not have foreseen’? Aint that something to think about?

I see, nor hear, very little these days, it seems, that makes even a remote bit of sense. Watched a little of tonights ‘Elections’, and it seems America has been formulated, (with a lot of help from the state controlled Media), to choose between Hillbilly, Obama, and McCain. Would seem, the future path of this Country has been laid out. And from my simple, country boy way of thinking…it dont look all that good.

Did find some moments of pleasure this past weekend. Son and two grandchildren, ages 8 and 4 spent the weekend helping plant one of the garden patches. Kinda sat around and watched with some degree of amazement, as those three worked hard putting in a ‘tater patch’, some lettuce, and strawberries. Even the four year old was ‘into’ the whole thing.

Thought about those young’ns. Thought….what they learned this past weekend, about planting…might make a difference one day, whether they have a meal to eat? Crazy thoughts I thought….but I’ve had a few of those along the way. Along this journey called life.

Dont like much what I am seeing these days. See a lot of empty stores, no lines at cash registers in my parts. Except for the ‘Dollar Store’. Seems a lot of folks are ‘lowering thier standards’. Buying items from dollar stores, more than charging things at the Mall? Seems, rough times, tough times, are already starting to appear? Seems, many will be in search of, look to seek, a more simpler, less expensive way of living?

Like I said, a lot going through the thoughts of a Farmboy these days. I aint bored, for sure. (grin)

And thinking tonight….few will buy a ticket on the Gold Train. Few, will have the chance, for the ‘Last Dance’. Guess most folks, are not as good at thinking, understanding, as I once thought. Watching the voters make thier selected choices….has pretty much confirmed my worst of fears. Confirms a verse written long ago. “My People perish, for lack of knowledge”.

And if not lack of ‘knowledge’, then certainly being lazy, greedy, plain stupid,….and expecting the All Mighty Feds, and Government, to always bail them out? Not to mention, to feed em, provide low energy costs, educate thier children in public schools….and it now seems, provide ‘Free’ Health Care.

Best I get off my soap box…and just comment that we are living in interesting times. But I have some hope, some amount of faith, that at least two will know how to plant a row of taters.

Best, Farmboy

No words tonight. Dont have em.

Just a nod, a moan of sorts, to share heart to heart. Not even understanding I dont guess, since i did not know ‘fred’. But felt pretty sure this evening, I have known a few men like him. And somehow, this ole world will miss men like him. Perhaps even more than we presently know.

So here’s to you Doc, and a good man passed on. Best, Farmboy

Farmboy - Happy you enjoyed.

To much stress all around.  People with no money want more.  People with money.  Afraid to lose it.

Then you got Bernanke and Paulson on TV every day now.  Trying to program the public.

But I love the movie.  Remember the music.  Hey when this bull market takes off.  Goldtenters who hang in will be living in “High Society.”

ment17 (22:23) Got that. Note that I did suggest that maybe your TA is better than the one who came to the PM dance a very long time ago. I’m counting on $1600 plus also. Grin if that happens. Cheers.

one dang sell off

at 990 and the doubters play their tune .. if …

we must take russell for his precision.. “My advice on gold, as it has been all along — ride the bull, and buy more on pull-backs.”

Bravo! I applaud your excellent taste in music and entertainment this evening.

Enjoyable, truly so. Best, Farmboy

Ike

Ike, don’t trust that Pat Chan fella, he’s not reliable.  I’m not surprised that he didn’t put the money in your account.  When I gave him my social security number he said he’d get right back to me and I never heard from him again.  :-)

since JBI is missing in action, here is the Asian markets

http://finance.yahoo.com/intlindices?e=asia  not alot of action tonight

JBI - hope you are feeling ok.

p.s.

and sinclair is dog meat.. LOL

EQ…Last Dance

Your remarks about “…some came to the dance really early…some a little later…”

Reminded me of one of my long time favorites by Donna Summers. Reckon, as long as one gets to the golden dance, even the ‘last dance’, before the local coin dealers shelves are found empty…one can still enjoy even the last dance.

Hope you enjoy, Best as always, Farmboy

Equisetum

if/when could be a typo who knows? LOL. At any rate Russell has stated many times in the past that $1000 would be resistance first time up. I wouldn’t read too much into it. The ease with which we went through the 1980 highs shows this market wants to go much higher.

tfh (20:43), strikerrod (20:29) Interesting exchange you had there.

At 20:29 strikerrod mentioned that it was not like Mr. Russell to be so unsure, with his comment “If and when gold hits 1000″.  tfh responds at 20:42, “Russell has been around forever.  You get enough experience you realize there are no sure things”.

In my opinion, there is great wisdom being exposed by the verbal exchange above.  In that context,  I note that ment17 says (or should I say ment 17 repeats) that gold is going to 1600 +.  Maybe it will.  But I think Russell came to the dance earlier that ment17 did, so maybe Russell, in his caution, has a point worth noting.  But then maybe ment’s TA is more up to date <g>.

Just trying to size up opinions of those who came to the dance really early and those who came to the dance a little bit later than early  <g>  Best wishes.  Equiz.

Japan may move to support tumbling dollar

David Woo, currency chief at Barclays Capital, said: “I don’t think we are yet at the point where the Bank of Japan is once again going to intervene by buying US Treasuries, but there is no question that people are worried. If the dollar gets to 100 yen, it could happen.”

The major Asian powers are increasingly irked by what they see as America’s beggar-thy-neighbour policy of dollar devaluation, which effectively steals growth from other countries. The question is when and exactly how they will react.

Often forgotten, Japan is still the biggest creditor nation by far, with net overseas assets of $3,000 billion. Major shifts in strategy by Japanese investors can have huge effects on global markets, all too often catching the rest of the world by surprise.

John McCain’s Sweet Ride
Lobbyist’s Plane Flew Saudi Royals after 9/11

February 27, 2008
by Daniel Hopsicker

The lavishly-furnished custom Boeing 727 airliner (727PX) which ferried Senator John McCain on four occasions during his Presidential run in 2000 also flew Saudi Royals out of the U.S. right after 9/11, carrying an entourage of Saudi Royals from Las Vegas to London six days after the 9/11 attack in a controversial operation later scrutinized by the 9/11 Commission.

The 727 figures in the current tempest over his relationship with female lobbyist Vicki Iseman, who provided and flew with McCain on the plane.

With hundreds of air charter companies and airliners to choose from, the Saudis chose a company that owns “Worship Ministries” and Christian Network, Inc., turning to Paxson Communications, a “Christian broadcaster” which owned the plane, to make its corporate jet available to spirit the Saudi princes and their entourage out of the U.S. six days after 9/11.

The Saudi Royal party made good their escape from Las Vegas on an airliner sporting a Christian symbol of peace, a dove, on it’s tail, an intriguing detail and compelling human interest story—Muslims flying Air Jesus—that has to date been reported nowhere but in the MadCowMorningNews.

Go figure.
