Thanks for your reply.  We’re headed to Italy, for the most part.

My wife asks, “Is that really true that you can get the spot price or close to it from major banks?  It seems so strange!”  It does seem odd!

betthefav - boy good question. If I had some cash and had to choose among the

alternatives you listed, I would opt for KGC. Their performance in their mines continues to improve…their future looks bright. You could likely get more leverage in lesser stocks, but it might be the lower risk option that suits your needs. IMHO, but of course…heh heh heh…I hold KGC :)

FARMBOY

FARMBOY,  I’m sending out the milk cartons if you don’t let us know you are doing ok !    milkcarton

Hope you are just busy working on the Farm but give us a smoke signal.

oldlurker - selling krugerrands in Europe….yes, that will work. You can sell them at

most major banks, the fees are almost the same across the board. In other words, you won’t get a better deal by shopping around. There is no such thing as an anonymous transaction in Europe. You may have to sign a piece of paper, show your passport, depends. But it is nothing that will/can be traced. Europeans are not interested in knowing the business of Americans, nor helping our gobmint do us citizens harm.

Have a great time across the pond. What countries are you heading to and when, if you don’t mind sharing….

good evening and a couple of questions

Hi Equis, Farmboy. Rambus and all you other great posters!

Is it possible to copy an item from Posters paradise?  Have tried but

without success.

My next question.  Was /am planning to buy tomorrow, but can’t

decide between dgp, gdx, ego and kgc.  I like them all, but because of

my limited funds, I have to choose one.  Any ideas, comments would be appreciated. Tks

Overseas…….

HONG KONG (MarketWatch) — China’s consumer price index accelerated to 8.5% in April from the year-ago month, Chinese state media reported on Monday, raising fears of further monetary policy tightening by the country’s central bank. The monthly inflation measure compares with an 8.3% year-on-year increase in March and a nearly 12-year high of 8.7% in February. Shanghai-listed shares extended their decline on the data, with the Shanghai Composite index recently down 2.2% at 3,534.19.

May 12 (Bloomberg) — For the first time since December 2005, futures traders are turning bullish on the dollar.

The difference in the number of wagers by hedge funds and other large speculators on a gain in the greenback versus the euro, known as net longs, was 21,315 on April 29, figures from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in Washington show. There were net-short positions in each of the previous 123 weeks. At the same time, traders have stepped up their purchases of options that profit from the dollar’s appreciation.

The measures are making long-suffering proponents of the dollar optimistic that this time the currency’s rally may hold, especially if the Federal Reserve’s Open Market Committee refrains from additional interest-rate cuts. The Dollar Index traded on ICE Futures in New York, which tracks the currency against six trading partners, is up 3.3 percent from an all-time low of 70.698 set on March 17.

I too always pay particular attention to your most well thought out TA and discussion. I’m sure you know you’re a real heavyweight here. Your insights have been a great help to me over the years. Because of you and several others here, I feel like a have a fighting chance as I continue to invest in the precious metals. As my working life comes close to an end…I think having a correct allocation in this sector is most essential. There seems nothing better to insure a lifetime’s earnings and assets. All the best my friend.——aggie.

Old Lurker….welcome to the tent

…..Hope you have a great European Vacation….and paying for it with a little Gold is cool…..best FGC

aggie; yes. Happy Mother’s Day to all.

aggie; just a quick note to let you know that I read your farm posts with great interest.   I guess the old saying applies to me too.  ‘ You can take the boy outta the country. But you can’t take the country outta the boy.’

Spent ten hours working the garden on Saturday.  Did stop to drink some water at times.  Lunch and supper too.  It was good to sit and listen to the wind in the poplars at sunset.  Our plums are in blossom only the past few days.   Apple blossoms near me are not yet open.  Maybe this week.  Tulips in bloom.  Some are finished.   We are getting some much needed rain tonight.

Cheers, TQ`

Happy Mothers Day….

to all the moms on the board…..Would be nowhere without you gals! Also…..Godspeed to the tenters travelling to the meeting.  Have a great time and remember those of us back in the trenches….Drink a Bud Lite on me….But charge it to Irish…He still owes me, right Wanka??  Look forward to making one of these gatherings sometime. What a fabulous group we have here. All the best.——aggie.
