ment17 (23:33) I have read ad nauseum on Goldtent, jsmineset and
elsewhere that the US dollar and the US economy have some shaky foundations. I have never thought things are as serious as some Goldtent postings and some jsmineset opinions suggest they are. But when you post about ‘crazy raspberry ants’ undermining the very GDP foundations of your nation then I take note.
Truth be told, I’m not surprised that the little globally-relevant ants now being noticed in the Houston area can rouse some attention from the human-centric era in which we live. In my opinion, humans are spending too much time looking at their own navel-buttons and are forgetting that other biological organisms control our destiny. For example, the earth’s soil mantle that produces the food for humans is entirely controlled by soil micro-organisms; although we think we are very smart in manipulating the soil to our purposes by fertilizers and cultivation practices, it is really the microbes in the soil that are calling the shot. Also, all the decomposition of the organic waste produced by humankind is handled by invertebrate organisms and microbes. We have much to be thankful for because these little creatures share this planet with us. Without them we wouldnt be here.
Cheers. Equiz.
