Yes, I’ve heard of Peak Oil - the idea has been thrust upon us for several years.
Yes, the dollar has dropped 43%, during which time oil has risen over 1000%.
I don’t know whether we are in “Peak Oil”. I do know that this is the second energy crisis - the first being manufactured. I do know that when gasoline rose from whatever it was in the 70’s, $.30 or $.40 a gallon to over $1 - it never went back to $.40 as oil became magically plentiful again. Somehow I think $3-4 (at least) is here to stay, no matter what.
I don’t think that believing the Peak Oil theory could be another hoax is out of the realm of possibility. If you read Ipso’s article about Lindsay William’s and Gull Island, he certainly believes there is plenty of oil in Alaska. Again, I have to wonder why the U.S. government has thwarted every effort to drill there, despite our ever increasing dependence on foreign sources. Even the most radical conservationist would have to grapple with the question of risk to the environment through drilling for oil or risks to it from waging war. Somehow, I think war may have the greater impact.
Lastly, we know that Tesla had discovered how to garner the electro magnetic energy of the earth to create electricity. His dream was to provide free energy to the world - until he contacted J.P. Morgan who promptly quashed the dream. We know that there have been several different inventors that have learned to separate the Hydrogen fron the H2O, and have used it to power vehicles, yet the technology never seems to make it to the mainstream. Why?
The trick is to keep us consuming and dependent. It keeps us powerless.
Anyway, probably a little off topic. Do I think it could be a farce? They’ve been lying to us for a very long time. No need to stop now.
