Saw a sad foreclosure today.

They trashed the place. Met the realitor and went in , u would not believe it only $370 k . Are they $hitin me , $370 pinch me. Built in 1987 , roof gone , furnace gone (has pretty new water tank on system) , kitchen needs 20 k , rugs gone , walls need work,
both batroom’s needs a sludge hammer , oh ya septic system shot. New one 20- 25 K. What a mess. Started heading outside and she say’s what u think , she said i put an offer in, bank said no. She say’s u first , I said 240 -250 K she said really , i said now u tell , she said she put it in at $290 k , i said u are way off the mark , i said that septic system is shot don’t ya know, she said it’s good for a 6 month re-test after someone moves in. Yep then it will fail because it’s no longer the Banks problem , now it’s your’s. She looked at my wife and said, he’s done this before , wife said yep. She asked do u have a realtor to represent u . Nope i handle it all , including hacking at your fat commission because no one else is walking away with half of comm. Rather then splitting a 5 % comm. I’ll pay a 3 % comm. to you. The Fat day’s of commissions are over folks , time to down size with the rest of America. Boy exit stage right , wife said what work , understatement. Camping looking pretty good tonight . The Banksters arn’t movin price. LOLOLOL they can keep it and pay property taxes and insurance on them , boy are they dumb. They need to get a few more dozen that will change their tune. Dumb $hits. Needs $120 k and they are asking $370 k . They can keep it. CT

Sinbad regarding home construction for natural ventilation

Check out this guide for comfortable temperature and humidity for us humans given various ventilation strategies.  The chart implies that above 90 degrees F and 50% humidity, either the temperature or humidity must be reduced for most of us to feel “comfortable”.  Heat pumps are hard to resist in some places (if you can afford the energy cost).

FGC/ New Poll…

You should add Richard Maybury.  His Early Warning Report is excellent big picture stuff.

Mountain house freeze dried cans are sold out. I called them and they said they can’t keep up with the demand. I asked them if the disaster in China had anything to do with it and they said no, its been like that. The cans last 25-30 yrs. The packets last about 5yrs. Makes me wonder how fast the food supply would get wiped out in a world wide disaster if the demand is already like that now.

Options on pms coming? Will this be a new tool for manipulation? I’m suspicious…..

Hommel (aobtd at 9:18) has finally lost it.

I read Schwensen’s article yesterday, and it made perfect sense.  For Hommel to assert that:They “Must prioritorize in favor of its major clients?” Ridiculous! They are producing a commodity. Product can be allocated in either of two ways. First, by seniority with rationing, or by price! They are not allocating product based on price, like they should! If they are not acting in a free market way, then they are price fixing! It’s so basic!

Furthermore, a refinery can pour 100 ounce bars just as easily as they can pour 1000 ounce bars with no delays. The delays, therefore, are indeed, evidence and proof of a shortage!

shows a complete lack of commercial experience.  There is only so much refining capacity, and major clients’ orders will always be filled before paying attention to Mr. “I’m a silver conspiracy theory expert and you are manipulating the price” Hommel’s order for a 100 oz bar.  The only “proof” of a shortage may be a shortage in refining capacity, not of silver, brought about by the increased volume of silver in Australia as a by-product of the surge in base metals production.

Hommel has shown himself to be like Bernanke, an Ivory Towered expert on production.  Go and get a proper job in a factory for a few years, Jason, and find out how the real world operates!

Glad that you like the idea.

I mentioned the four for a few reasons.  The simplest is that they are valued by the market as similar value on a per gold ounce per share basis.

There is another issue that has been on my mind for some time.  As it appears that the decline in price has affected not only the explorers but also the small and mid producers, it would seem to hurt the producers alot that their share price is so low.

If they are thinking to raise cash from issuing shares to finance growth, they must be disappointed due to the low valuations per share.  Look at Claude for example.  If it were valued at about C$3.00 per share they could issue ten million shares in a private placement to explore the Madsen property.

In early 2007 when the HUI was at about 350 and gold was at about US$ 650, Claude was priced at about C$2.00.   The HUI closed today over 420, and gold is over US$880; but Claude is under C$1.00.  I think that this company has done well and continues to manage and mine well.  I do not see why their share price is so low. [And remember that their share price is on par with the share price of companies like ngx.to, gsc.to and img.to.  So the market sees crj.to as a similar value to these others.]

I wonder how many mining companies are frustrated at the low share price and its limiting effects upon their ability to issue a reasonable amount of shares to finance the proving up of increased resources.  This limitation also hurts share price in a cumulative way;  proving up resources can positively affect share price.  It can also affect mine life and company profitability.  Both can impact share price.

The upside is that a return to fair valuations should lead to an acceleration in the rise of share price, once the ability of the smaller companies to explore and prove up increased resources  is improved by higher share valuations.

Cheers, TQ

Action is constructive. We need  to move far away from the wedge backtest and do so in a hurry. IMO

Crystallex says Las Cristinas challenge denied

TORONTO — Crystallex International said on Friday its legal rebuttal of a Venezuelan government decision to deny it permits to mine the Las Cristinas gold deposit has not been accepted.

The Canadian-based company said in a statement it has received a communication from the Venezuelan environment ministry advising it of the ministry’s decision. The company has 15 business days to appeal, it said.

“Crystallex has instructed its legal counsel to prepare an appeal,” the company said. “Crystallex has a number of legal avenues to pursue both in and out of Venezuela in order to project its shareholders’ rights.”

Crystallex (KRY/TSX) has for years been trying to get final permission to mine the deposit, which has proven and probable reserves of 17 million ounces.

It had thought it was close to getting the final go-ahead, but then found out last month that the environment ministry planned to shut down mining in the region.

The company’s stock, which has fallen 50% since then, was down 2 cents at 78 cents on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Friday afternoon.
