Damn, this is worse than I thought

CHICAGO (MarketWatch) — The collapse of the housing bubble will likely have drastic implications on the wealth and retirement of certain baby boomers, according to a report Tuesday by the Center for Economic and Policy Research.

The median household headed by those between 45 and 54 in 2009 will have about 25% less wealth than the median household of that age in 2004, according to the report. That household’s wealth will decline to $113,268 in 2009, from $150,113 in 2004.

And that’s if housing prices remain at the level they were in March.

” I hope I’m just a paranoid, conspiracy nut case.”

I hope you are also. However, I have those same concernes/thoughts. We both know that the guv can do anything it damn well pleases with the stroke of a pen. This has been displayed to us time and time again while the sheepie don’t even blink. However, I still have hope that a lot of the gold would be exempt. In ‘33 a lot of it was. Any coin that had numismatic value as an example. The way the law stands now (to my understanding) is that it would take an individual imminate domain suit for each and every coin as each coin is valued on it’s own merrits. Totaly cumbersum and undoable. Can that change…..sure, but perhaps it would be prudent to acquire some of those pre 33s that have minimal premieums on them.

Well said, sabregold…

Case in point, sent to me by a realtor in Tahoe

I’m writing this email with great excitement. East West Partners, the developer of the Village at Northstar, has a goal of selling $8M dollars worth of real estate this summer. In order to reach this number they have substantially lowered prices by around 25-30% on 15 residences in the Village to accomplish this. Click here to view the list.

We are not releasing these prices to the public until July 8 to give our current clients and prospects a chance to buy at these reduced prices. As you can see from the price list the price reductions are compelling and offer you an opportunity to own an amazing ski-in, ski-out residence at an amazing value.

I would recommend, if possible, you visit the area in the next couple of weeks in order to tour these residences. We expect that it won’t take long to hit that $8M dollar mark, especially when we release the prices to the public.

Please call me at anytime and I am happy to help you book accommodations. I would also love to host you as a “Member” of the Tahoe Mountain Club during your stay as well as take you out on the Wild Goose II boat for a private cruise on Lake Tahoe as well. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kindest Regards,

If the FED pumps this system full of liquidity

but a few hundred trillion is needed then how do you get inflation?

Homes are deflating

Cars are deflating

Stocks are deflating

Banks are going to zero

Has anyone on this board tried to get a loan? Go to Bankrate.com and see how many institutions in your city are willing to give you a HELOC.

Did anyone read the press release on AUA? The chances of that mine coming to fruition are going South because the 600M needed to finance it simply is not there.

Credit is contracting, no, it is imploding and when liquidity is added it is going into places that hurt the little guy, food and energy. That is not an inflationary crisis. What is a crisis is the deflation in asset prices when the asset is going down and you have borrowed against it.

It is the implications of the latter that most had better worry about, for without access to credit you are in a depression.

Terriorist, they also sell  marajuana so I heard. I hope they don’t…confiscate.. to leave people with..nothing..but then they have askhole syndrome.

Farmgal

Dani and I are very happy for you. You have been in our prayers. I can’t imagine what this must have been like for you. So many of us take sight for granted.

Dusty..think that is crazy? What are implications of this recent development?

“Based in a decision made by a government working group, Iran has switched to ‘genuine’assets like GOLD and shares…. We have decreased our foreign currency holdings in international banks’ So said Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs, Moshen Talaei, on June 9.’

Could this be the start of a new hysteria? Terrorists moving to gold and evil money launderers buying gold. Therefore, must make illegal all purchases and possession. Could this be the next attack we must endure? I hope I’m just a paranoid, conspiracy nut case.

Midwest floods;

Many thanks to aggie, silverffox52 @ 10:18 am, GoldenAge @ 8:53 & Maya for the informative replies to my post.  Sorry if I missed anyone; getting up at 5 tomorrow and it’s already 8:20 here.  Worked just under ten hours today.  Gotta love that boron and Lakota stuff.  I also use the CoEnzyme Q10, zinc, vitamin B50, lottsa C [about 8 grams daily]  lottsa salmon oil; gotta keep the good times rolling.  I agree with Deadeye.  Enjoy the moments as they come.  And keep the pantry stocked.

Sold the attack parrot [small, green and mean]; but keeping the two dogs.  Speaking of parrots. Hey Wanka, how’s yours?

TQ

Sinbad @ 20:13…..sheeeeesh…..How crazy is that ??

The one thing that could STOP their inflation if used correctly is banned from being imported !!
