Hi Moggy and Farmboy!

Farmboy……….Beans and Bullets

Trust me, one thing you don’t want is for me to break out in song! Some say I can’t carry a tune in a bussel basket. I know that to be true as I once tried to carry a tune in a hay wagon…….with side boards. Failed miserable there. So a bushel basket doesn’t have a chanch !!

Hey…how about that Supreme Court….surprise, surprise surprise!!

That decision last week will go into the history books as one battle that Freedom Loving Americans won. Wins are few and far between…..but that was a big one.

Great to see you posting after such a long dry spell and you got things pretty well figured out. Yep, got lots of beans and ammo just in case…and some assets that should see me through whatever is to come and not talking just gold and silver here. A prudent man plans for all contingencies to protect family and self. I think those of us who actually get it will be fine, whether here or off shore. Anyway, all the best to you, my friend, and keep your powder dry.

Relax, folks. Just sit back and enjoy the 1 July holiday in Canada and

the 4 July holiday in the U.S.  I say relax because according to Russell Blench at 10:11 on jsmineset today there is mention that before the U.S. Senate now there is a yet-to-be-debated bill titled the “End of Speculation Act”.

So cool down everybody.  Everything is going to be just fine if those who have a vote  can just get that bill passed.  I am really jealous that my country’s “lawmakers” dont see fit to table similar draft legislation of such importance. [G].

Cheers.  Equiz.

Mail Call

By golly….two days in a row I get to read the Tent. First was a really busy spring around the farm with little time to log in. Then, funny how life works like this, but then when I get a little time, the home computer gives up the ghost. Hoping my son can come out and take a look at the smoking black box next week. Fingers crossed he can salvage the thing. This two steps forward, then one step back kinda wears on me after awhile. (grin) Looks like after so many years following the gold market one would be impervious to such things. (Big Grin)

@ TQ, Thanks for the well wishes. Great to hear you are faring well. We finally got a pretty good thunderstorm today. Heard on the local news the other day where Georgia is 12 inches below rainfall for same time as last year. With July and August rounding the bend, it looks like we will be in for another dry summer/fall. Been a little down watching what promised to be a great gardening year slowly turn into withered landscape. Hope to find in the morning that today’s rain actually got into the ground to do some good. This Ga red clay tends to bake hard in the sun, almost forming natural red clay roofing tiles like you see on those houses in Italy. When a good thunderstorm finally shows up, seems a lot of the water just runs off the land. Hoping some of this got down to the roots. About those hand tools. Yes sir, been using them a lot more this year. Not sure what effect its had on the blood pressure. But got a slew of new blisters to show for it. (grin) Best as always,

@ Floridagold, Thanks for checking in. Kinda had me worried when I did not see a slew of posts from you. Have sorely missed your thoughts, and the great job you do keeping everyone up with the latest news of importance. Spent many an hour working in the dirt, wondering what news I was missing the last couple months. Appreciate the update on the ole sailor. Good to know he is still out and about and that SuperGirl is doing fine. You think even as we speak, ole Grandpa Wanka is performing some sort of salt water baptism with his new grandaughter? (grin)
Take care, and hope we both are able to get back into the Tent on a more regular basis soon.

@Moggy, Well. Just bust my britches and bless my soul. Hush my mouth, and pass the sweet tater pie. Lady, you where another one I was starting to wonder about. Thought maybe some of them N Ga revenuers had kidnapped ya or something. Hugs, for checking in and letting us know you are doing well. And still ‘Prepping’ along the way. Have not had time to work much on any Plan, A or B of late. Had some things get me sidetracked, but starting to get a grip on most of it. Ya got me all rev’vd up with your mentioning of another meeting. Will polish up the cookware in hopes of making it back up to the mountains. A certain gift, a crystal sits on my desk. You are never far from thought or mind. Farmboy

@ Just Buy It, Say the 300 DMA just keeps heading up the hill huh? Dont suppose you might could throw up a chart for Sister Silver? Thanks for all you do. Glad to hear from ya. Glad to see those eagle pics are still flying. Think maybe one of these days, I will get around to getting one of those eagles painted on the John Deere. Probably ought to wait till the ‘Dora’ stickers my grandaughter pasted, either fade out some more, or fall off first though. Best to you and yours this evening. And congrats on kicking those cigs. Im still working on that vice. (grin)

@ Maya, Great news to hear you are keeping up those radio skills, and working hard this weekend. Hope those boys on the space shuttle check in before you break camp. Hey, you are just the man to ask. Whats the sun solar cycle doing? Seems I remember you talking about expected increases with solar flares and such within a year or so?? Everytime I cross the Railroad Crossing by the feed store, I smile, and think of you. And wonder how long it will be before Irish calls you up to order a rail system installed at the Flintstone’s pit. (grin) Figure ole Redneckokie already has some sorta biofuel plant to run the train. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Best wishes, ….dang what this man needs right about now….is some Macadania Nuts and a GOOD cup of coffee!

Phew, Best to everyone at the Tent. Aint typewritered this much in a few moons. Just being able to sit a spell, hear from you all. Kinda feels like one of those Sunday Picnic Dinner Homecomings. Can almost hear Sinbad and Dusty breaking out in a verse of ‘Pass the Beans and Bullets’. Viva la Tent.

golden apocalypse

It appears we are on the eve of a golden apocalypse.

 A spiritual awakening.

It is what it is until it isn’t.

Check………Your asset is the gal on yer right arm. All else is as they say…noise

Irish @21:55

Trying to get things done to get there end of JUly. This lawsuit stuff is really time consuming. Duty is three pounds of Starbucks and Marlboro lights? Don’t understand how you can drink that stuff..so many great coffees from SA and the islands to choose from. Cannot read the chicken bones too well, but I am certain time is limited if a move is to be made. We can leave, our assets cannot. It’s in the works now. I plan to call you this week with schedule.

Sinbad

There you are. I am getting my permits for the ones I have already. No one is getting my Guava Haa
I sit and think tonight about what might be. I know that what is taking place down here is right. So,I continue to build the compound so to speak. I can feel the sentiment on the board from where I sit. We as a group are very leery of what is upon us. It is disturbing to the best charters,Gann experts,Ellioters, etc….we know what the bastards have done to the economy..and what they probably have planned.for the population…10,000 an ounce gold is not worth what is going to happen ..so I pray and watch the river go by me….we have enough sand maybe we can pound it up somewhere it needs to be pounded.

your hands, go to the ‘Search’ box on jsmineset and type in Barrick.  To digest the printout will take time because it will be necessary to go back several years to come to your own conclusions about the Barrick/Tanzanian Royalty relationships or, if you prefer, the Sinclair/Barrick relationships.

PMFever and I had a testy exchange on this topic last February (see PMFever at 00:32 on Goldtent, 4 February 2008, and Equisetum at 00:52, 4 February 2008).

If you feel free to do so, please post what you think about the Barrick/Sinclair business relationship.  I am not implying there is anything wrong with what one  can infer from the relationship, but I did note in my jsmineset search that there are a number of joint ventures between Mr. Sinclair’s company and Barrick.  That’s how the  rumpled exchange between Goldrunner and I came up, because I had simply stated that I couldnt understand how so many people on Goldtent dumped on Barrick for various reasons, yet were predominantly positive about Mr. Sinclair and/or Tanzanian Royalty.  To me, there seemed to be some inconsistency there, if one was truly anti-Barrick in their outlook.

But in the end does any of the above matter one bit, assuming we are in a Sinclair-declared rise to 1650 POG?  I think not.    Equiz.

Gold down $2.30-but this is actually good

they just gotta try to knock gold down with crude up–but a couple bucks down on gold is nothing-gold will be up by morning and if crude just stays positive-it ain’t gotta

by whom???   The Carlyle Group.   When Bush Jr. visited Africa a few months back he made a visit to Tanzania, the home of Tanzanian Royalty Corp.  His business in that country was not made public.   Bush Sr. is heavily involved in the Carlyle Group and Barrick Gold.

U.K. HOUSE PRICES FALL; CONSUMER GLOOM DEPPENS

SEPARATE SURVEYS REFLECT ECONOMIC FEARS

LONDON (MarketWatch) - The British housing market continued to stagnate in June, while consumer confidence slipped neared an all-time low amid a darkening economic outlook, according to two separate surveys released Monday.

Hometrack’s monthly house price survey found average prices dropped by 1% in June for the ninth consecutive monthly decline. Compared to June 2007, prices were down 3.2% and are off 2.5% since the beginning of the year.

Separately, the GfK NOP Index, a measure of consumer confidence, fell five points to -34, from -29 in May, and near the lowest level ever recorded. Confidence in the economic outlook over the next 12 months fell to a record low of -45 from -39 in May. GfK NOP, a consulting firm, conducts the survey on behalf of the European Commission.

The Hometrack survey echoed other studies that have found the number of housing transactions have shrunk as potential buyers stay away due to the credit crunch.

“New buyer registrations were down 5.7% in June and have now fallen by 52% since the start of the credit crunch,” said Richard Donnell, Hometrack’s director of research, in a news release.

“This drop in volumes was always possible as around half of all transactions in recent years have been driven by aspirational or non-needs-based movers who are now sitting on their hands,” he said.

The drop in transaction volumes threatens to reach levels not seen since the 1970s, Donnell said.

The survey found sellers are now receiving 91.6% of their asking prices, down from 92.3% in May and the lowest level since the series began in 2001. A year ago, sellers were receiving 95.6% of their asking prices.

Meanwhile, it’s no surprise consumers are growing increasingly gloomy about their economic prospects, said Rachael Joy, a member of the consumer confidence team at GfK NOP.

“With rising inflation, gloomy forecasts for interest rates and soaring fuel, utility and food prices dominating the front page headlines, it’s no surprise that confidence in the general economy is almost in freefall,” she said. “It seems unlikely that this trend will reverse in the near future.”
