I love coin shows. It is fun to look around and try to find a ‘bargain’. $95 for the tenth oz maple lief was a good deal, you got it for close to spot…..good job. It would be worth going back tomorrow just to see that huge Maple lief!! That is quite a hunk of gold!! And, it is 5-nines pure. It amazes me that they can refine to that degree.
Cheers
Dusty
Just passing thru and thought I would drop a couple of articles and see if anyone noticed! Glad you and Dusty caught them. Been practicing my knife catching with the financials!
They are easier to nickle flip than the pm’s and Ment doesn’t take a %! ![]()

The last time I saw so much gold in one place was when I was in Dubai, and The Dubai Gold Souk had ( by a huge multiplier ) lots more than what I saw today …
Talked to the Hippies ( they have to be 60 years old ) that have their own MINT … www.lqmint.com/ … Lasqueti Isle B.C. … they make coins that are anything but CHEAP … they were selling one-tenth ounce Silver coins today at the eSpecial price of $10 each …
I saw two 100 gram gold bars .. and both sellers wanted $3200 for the bar they had … there were lots of one ounce bars … and assorted other smaller bars … I got one JM 10 gram bar at $316 ( other sellers wanted up to $360 for the same 10 gram bar ) …
Got 1 one-tenth ounce MapleLeaf Au coin .. $95 ( that was the best deal I saw amongst everything ) …
Got one Austrian 1 Ducat Au coin … $110
What I paid ” way too much for ” were 10 one oz Ag bars .. $22 each, and I did that just because they are stamped with Signs of the Zodiac, the guy I got those from was willing to take 160 one ounce Ag Bars as trade for the 100 gram Au bar he had, he is from Burlington Ontario, and the website on his Card is www.canadiancurrency.ca/ …
No one had any Aussie Lunar Series coins …. J&M from Vancouver was there … I asked the guy from J&M about a one-ounce Ag Snake .. he said he did not bring any with him … that yes J&M had them at $36 each …
The Big Canadian Gold Coin ( about 20 inch diameter, one inch thick ) will be on display Saturday only, … the Mint Reps said that only 6 or 7 have been made so far … that the Big Coin is ” Made-to-Order ”
I spent about 5 hours at that coin show today, and I just may go back on Saturday …

Can we basically say that what transpired this week with the mac & mae twins was similar to what happened to the Hunt Brothers but in reverse, They closed the window for the shorts & would only let the longs trade this week , Where as in the 1980’s they closed the window for the longs & only let the sell orders go through.
I really appreciate the views of all who contribute to this discussion. I find it fascinating and very important to understand all that one can of these concepts. It seems like it should be such a simple thing……but it isn’t, at least for me. Treading through uncharted waters is extremely dangerous but the insights presented from both sides really help.
Just trying to learn,
Dusty
Thanks for continuing to furnish the Tent with great articles!!

us in Novagold or Silver Wheaton warrants. We have been holders of Novagold warrants for 4 or 5 years now and have harvested the excellent returns by selling selectively over several years at market highs. It has been our single most profitable investment in the PM sector, so no grudges here whatever. But it threw a real surprise at us the last few days. Since these warrants expire soon, in August 2008 I think, it seemed appropriate to bail out from the few last remaining warrants when they hit $0.85 from their high in the $12.00-13.00 range a year or so ago. I say bail out because I thought their value would continue progressing to zero as expiration date approached. So a few days after the $0.85 low, we offered the last small holding of these warrants for an asking price of $1.35, and the sell order was filled. Since then the warrants have reached a high of over $3.00. So, lacking clairvoance, we poorly timed the sale of these last few warrants. I know that Novagold shares have performed well over the past few days and that helps explain the excellent performance of the warrants (see chart below). But the mystery to me is why the warrants, which have had an extremely skimpy daily trading volume, should be so attractive so close to their expiry date, having risen from $0.85 to over $3.00 in just a few days. Comments are welcomed from any warrant specialists or any Novagold specialists.
My other question is about Silver Wheaton ‘A’ warrants. I like Silver Wheaton as a company and our present intent is to hold our warrant position in it and to convert to the new issue of SLW warrants in August 2008. Does anyone have an opinion on whether it is or is not a good decision to stay with Silver Wheaton through their forthcoming new warrant plan? I look forward to opinions on these questions. Equiz.

Hola amigo! Good to see you’re back home. ![]()
Looking through the last few day’s posts, I noticed the thread about the US softshoeing Iran and even thinking about establishing some sort of normal diplomatic relationship. Should this happen the US policy makers will take credit for their diplomatic skills while covering up the real reason for the ‘flip flop’.
There will be no mention of the warning that came out of the middle east earlier this week.
WARNING FROM THE MIDDLE EAST…
This morning, from a cave somewhere in Pakistan, Taliban Minister of Migration, Mohammed Omar, warned the United States that if military action against Iran is started by anyone , Taliban authorities will cut off America’s supply of convenience store managers, and possible candidates for President of the United States. And if this action does not yield sufficient results, cab drivers will be next, followed by Dell and AOL customer service reps, and then Motel 6 managers. It will be the Mother of ALL economic wars.
