We went with our daughter to a trip to the Dalmatian coast. Went to all those Greek isles and that stuff. We went with her to Quebec City the year before and that was the better trip.
BTW one of my good friends here (he is older than I and in poor health now - but I have know him for 12 years) is a retired Canadian doctor. His wife was a nurse. These folks are as good as can be and keep my faith in humanity up.
And we have the other Canadian friends that bring us ice wine when they come back in the fall.

No (while bound to be wrong sometimes) I don’t trade rumors. But also I never have so much money in one position (or related positions) that if they went to zero we would as my sister always worries about - being old with little income. I tell her and true - you may have less than you want but you will have enough.

..I Posted to you that the article was from Midas’ Friend ” Dave in Denver”
….then in the same post I asked SOEE if he Knew Dave in Denver….I thought he once said he did……..anyhow SOEE lives in Denver…..
….but anyhow…I see another side of Aurum in the last post….dont touch it …I’m calling mrs Aurum ..she’s on the other line….
Since we are celebrating the talents of Quebec in recent time, and the music of Leonard Cohen….I would ask you to add to your reading list “Barney’s Version” by Mordecai Richler for many reasons, the least of which is your love of dogs.

FGC…sorry to say, no swim yet this year, have been spending much time helping a friend in need…with any luck, maybe in August but if so I would probably take a dip in the lake that is just down the road apiece.
aurum…when my friends need me,I am there…and give of myself quite freely.

“Next is a cut and paste of an article written by David Rogers of Politico:
Add in the federal debt ceiling, and it’s a reminder of how deep in the red the government already is. The current debt limit of about $9.815 trillion will be exhausted this fall, and the Democrats’ new 2009 budget plan calls for raising the ceiling to $10.615 trillion — an $800 billion increase.
The House has raised the ceiling already as part of approving the budget. But the Senate must still give its approval, and the housing bill would be a quick way to do so before November.
From Paulson’s standpoint, it would solve another problem of appeasing Congress’s concerns about his rescue plan. To be effective, the secretary has argued that no cap should be put on his new authority, nor should it be subject to the debt ceiling.
But Paulson appears willing to accept that condition now, since he would be assured that the ceiling will be raised to a level giving him enough room to assist Fannie and Freddie if needed.
I had to read the last two paragraphs 3 times before I could believe my eyes. Paulson has argued that no cap should be put on his new authority and that it (he) should not be subject to the debt ceiling? But now he is not going to raise a big fuss because the new limit gives him $1,088 billion dollars to work with? Who is this guy? So now he wants to make Congress irrelevant in financial matters? And he has the gall to say this is only if needed? Bailouts are coming and they will not be big, they will be huge. All this will be highly inflationary for Americans and will cause the dollar index to plummet and will take gold and silver to the next level. Regards,
-Bryant

I’m sorry - what are you asking?
I have been to Denver many times. One of my best friend from high school went to Boulder. We would go out to party with him (18 year old state at that time). I stayed one summer because I became involved with a girl (I was young).
Don’t let mrs aurum read this.
So I worked at Myers Black Canyon Ranch with this girl. In my mind (I was not married at the time - even if I were - well another argument) - we were young.

Nobody can ever prove whether a post is solely done by the “handle” or if Admin has concocted part of it. From now on, any remiss by me was done by Fully.
….SOEE do you know dave in Denver ?
“Considering that less than a dozen people”
Isn’t a good friend worth more than many dozens?

Is that your post or a quote? No quote marks?
I can hedge my position over the weekend. But no I don’t trade rumors.

<<Now really this is not antagonistic - so don’t get mad when nothing is meant. But Washington has a horoscope. What does that say? Not what rumors say.>>
Dogs get mad, aurum, didn’t you see Grin’s movie today?
I do not have the data for WaMu so am unable to construct a horoscope. Considering that less than a dozen people at the Tent have any interest in astrology, for me to do so would be a complete waste of my time. However, this week-end transiting Moon is in Taurus, sign of wealth and banks and will form a square to Neptune (treachery) which just happens to be transiting the U.S. 2nd house of BANKS. If I had any more money in a bank I would take it and run.
