This New Index … the PIGS (Paradise Index of Gold and Silver miners) was initiated on June 25 07
To better track many of the favorites of Goldtent Posters
It consists of 33 stocks each with an equal weighting
Each was given a value of 10 on June 25 07
For a total index value of 330
This was the same value as the HUI on that date
For a little while the PIGS and the HUI tracked together…mostly up
Then the HUi started to outperform our PIGS
at one time when the HUI went to 520…PIGS was 420….a Spread (Manure Spread)…of 100 points
Presently I am Sorry to say our PIGS have Wallowed in the Mud…and the Index is at 332.8..Dead Flat
13 Months of Flatulence
We Have Failed to bring home the bacon !.so far

Presently HUI is 390…..so the Manure Spread (HUI - PIGS.)…is down to 60….so we have relative PIGs Strength since the March Highs

The Amazing Thing is Gold was 650 at the Inception of the PIGs Index..and is now 920
Who would have Predicted our Index would wallow while Gold rose 40%
I would have predicted a 100% increase in the PIGs with a 40% Increase in Gold

and Finally Look at the Variation in results of the Individual Components of the Index

Some Very Solid Gains…the TOP PIG being GEA….which was just taken over by Kinross

I still believe that going forward our PIGs will Fly…if they can just get out of the Barn !
