Go over to Sharelynx he has tons of free charts on the right hand side of the home page you can view once you click that tab. We may very well be in the period when Gold moved from 200 down to 100 in the mid 1970’s. Took 3 years to regain the highs. I highly doubt we have seen the highs after only 9 years. Even the SP500 moved by a factor of 15. I would expect Gold and Silver to at least achieve that.

Fully

I don’t follow the metal’s options closely, the equities keep me busy…but for sure stocks and SLV options expire tomorrow at 2pm MST.

Yet we don’t see that much in gold

so it may be a time where someone has a big problem with silver expiration - done after hours where the market is easier to move. On the open tomorrow we will see if the ploy worked.

silverboom @ 16:38 pm

I know there is a great amount of happiness in the Silverboom home tonight. Thanks for letting us share the joy, hopes and dreams along side you. Best to mom, and Grandson.

Now, I got a few words of advice to ya Grandpa.

You got maybe two years. Join a gym tomorrow morning, and start working out like your life depends on it. It will. I wont lie to you, you will never be able to keep up with a grandson who will make the Road Runner appear to be standing still, but if nothing else, those two years of working out will give at least a sense of confidence.

Begin now, to practice the fine art of a ‘Power Nap’. This will be of great use, sooner than you think, when he pauses for a short nap, that you can rest your tired self as well.

Begin to organize and lock up all tools. Not only a good idea for his protection, but so that in case you where to oversleep during one of your power naps, you wont wake up to find the house, car, boat, RV, completely disassembled and scattered over many acres.

Its not too early to scout out the best of everything. The best Ice Cream store, the Best Fishing hole, The Best Playground, and this one is really important…The Best Barbershop. Hopefully one with a few Tonka Trucks.

Begin practicing memory skills. You will be put to the test hundreds of times a day. Where did he leave……drink, hot dog, left shoe, socks, Oreo Cookies, right shoe, shirt, pants, any number of toys….paper airplanes, baseball, bat….toothbrush…(you will be surprised the uses he finds for that)….and plenty of extra towels…that wont be a bathtub….its a POOL!

Stockup on Vitamins (for you), Ben Gay, (for you), and a case of those High Energy Drinks (for you). And set aside an hour a day and get yourself a set of Britanica Encylopedias. (For you). Read the entire set from A to Z. And you still will find, the million and one answers that will still NOT be found to questions and subjects never covered in those pages. Somedays, your’re just gonna have to wing it.

Remember the story of Noah and the Ark? Begin to think in terms of Two’s. If you buy a new lawmower, get a smaller, plastic version as well. (And unless your going to leave the motor turned off and make BBRRRR noises, his will need some semblence of noise making as well) Gonna buy a yard rake, make sure you get a small one as well. This will pretty much apply to most things such as tool belts, hammers, pliers, power tools, etc. You are going to have plenty of help doing your chores from now on.

And start an Emergency Repair Kit. Duct tape, Scotch tape, string, Super Glue, even some bubblegum. You dont want the fun to stop because a leg fell off a dinosuar, or wing off a plane. And a good air pump…dont forget that. Unless your lungs can fill hundreds of ballons, blow up a beachball, football, beachball again, water wings, water float, sometimes, all in the same day.

And if you are thinking….shucks Farmboy, I alread done all that with a son. Fair enough….and how many years ago, pounds ago, beer & Pizza was that?? (grin)

Trust me….Grandson is a Brand New Game.

Good Luck Gramps…(Your Gonna Need it),

Calling Wanka …Wanka where are you ?

…are you playing the Comex Silver Futures ?….

….tough game eh ?

….some guys are gonna wake up Broke I think !

90%

I get it from APMEX. They make a good two way market. If/when you sell you will have a bank wire within two days. They are very honest. Scott Thomas posts over at Gold is Money on occasion.

SOEE…so Silver went from 15 bucks to 12.20 in 16 hours ?

…close to a 20% DROP……

…there’s gata be manipulation in there somewhere

….do you know when the September Comex Options expire in silver ?

aggie @ 23:47 pm on August 14, 2008

The time leading up to the 70’s (1933 - 1971 when gold was frozen in price) was what I meant. Rigged was a poor choice of words - not traded and so cannot be charted - was my point. We need to see the chart leading up to that parabolic move.

I’m Not Smart Enuf

To understand why Silver is one of the few commodities not to make new highs this go around. Quite a few others have. I know the military has many uses for Silver. I still think it has the most room to run but I always find myself wondering why it hasn’t moved more than it has these last five years or so.

tfh..junk silver is my favorite…where do you get it ?

It’s hard to comprehend the price without seeing the graph

That is a serious take down in AH  — speculation or manipulation?

Man I was wrong about there not being much action tonight…is this it?

FGC

I admire your efforts to moderate.  Thanks.

Aurum…

Even though the charts I posted were from ‘04……the progression of the two gold bull looks similar…..in my mind we are not many years away from the “mania” phase. I don’t savvy why you think the 70’s charts are rigged.

All the best.—–aggie.

Farmboy In the field of opportunity it’s plowing time again

(one of my favorite neil young songs)

Time to plant the fall garden. Here you go: Time to plant
Turnips, kohlrabi, sugar snap peas, rutabaga, parsnips (yuk!), radish, beets and onions, greenhouse tomatoes, parsley, Swiss chard, cilantro, lettuce (might be a little early), radish. Cabbage, broccoli, collard greens, and cauliflower.  I extend all my support to you in all endeavours but keep your hands off our Alabama water!  heh heh

If you plant a small garden of these now then you will be rewarded finely before the first big freeze unless the big, bad, president’s working group on financial markets takes your crop by bringing in an early freeze. However, most of these will live through many, many, minor freezes before they give up for the winter.  Yea I look forward to seeing you sometime.

Sinbad- don’t know what to tell you.  I do know that when you think you should be near the next buoy then it is time to slow down and look and listen.  The fog is thick.  Where is the buoy?  Should we shut off the engine to listen for the bell?  What if it doesn’t start back up?  It is night time.  The tide should be starting to go out now…Where is the buoy?  CAn’t see when the spot light is off and am blinded by the reflection in the fog when the light is on.  Is silver at $19/oz a good value tonight or will cash in the mattress prove more valuable in the next 12 months?  OK shut’er down.  Wait.  Listen. Darkness, sound of cresting waves slapping the hull.  The buoy.  Where is it?  I hope the engine starts ok.  What time is it? Still only the sound of waves cresting in the darkness…what is the depth, how long is my anchor rode? … cmon bouy where are you talk to me… how much fuel we got?…to be continued

it’s been said before

There is only one reason for this kind of selling in the slow aftermarket  in such volume.  If you want to sell something for as much as you can get for it, you don’t do it this way. Even forced selling, which I think was much of the earlier downdraft, would be best done  in normal hours.  No, someone wants the price to go down, plain and simple.  Someone is covering their shorts right here and now,  just wait until the COT report and see if the open interest isn’t plummeting here as liquidating longs cancel out covered shorts.   Wish there were some way to know what is happening here without waiting for the COT data to come out.

As for buying the metals at this price, It’s the same here as elsewhere,  local dealers have pulled all the bullion off the shelf, about all you can get are numismatics.   Still plenty of ounces in the ground on sale ,tho.
