Options expiry tommorrow?

PollyMetallic, great post

You’ve posted what I’ve thought for a long while—even the last paragraph!  Actually, I’d bet many tenters (especially female ones) have formed opinions on a few posters in the role of mate—whoa Nellie.  <g>  Speaking for myself, anyway———

Perceptive post, full of helpful insights.  Unfortunately they will go unheeded by those most in need.

Read your post, kinda seeing cross eyed right now, in that fight or flusterd mode I guess. Yes there were studies taken that people who fight ..aside from gloves comming out..or argue once in awhile have a better survival rate than those who don’t. Although sometimes people say things they don’t mean and hard to get over less they apologize, or rub things in when they try to… Im guessing they are able to stand by their feelings and not let it eat away at them causing them to grow apart.

Silverngold, Im glad you had a gun and were aware of him. A crow bar, maybe you stopped him before he killed someone, and you. People like that should be locked up, all the evidense and still nothing. You know what that does it puts the witnesses in trouble. But yet they don’t hesitate to keep more cooperative innocent people or homeless that are because they don’t steal . I think the B&E that almost happened to me, I can’t say but I think he was coming for me, because it was too obivous somebody was home.Lights on TV on, car in driveway etc. Some guy tried that in LA wearing a ski mask, holding a knife,he probably got a broken knee, and was blinded a bit unfortunatley not enough for him to excape in the dark, but then I went the other way anyways. But I tell you it is scary, shakes you up a bit.I think they don’t expect women to fight, usually due to common sence, they’re bigger than you, so when you do I think it really throws them off, so you have to eather run or keep fighting before they get their senses and really hurt you. Running is better I think once you know thay can no longer catch you cuz you disabled them from doing so.

I ain’t fight’n with nobody.     Aunt Polly is right.  We are all on the same team.

Winedoc

Thank God they didn’t get my fishing pole, and left my mountain hose foods but went through some of it, guess they didn’t know what it was, or exp. signed pictures and china..But they got some of my CDs, now thats unforgivable. They got a DVD player too. Well if I ever have to leave guess Ill have less stuuf to worry about, just pick up and go. Luclky when gold went to a 1000 I packed up a lamp thats half gold, so they didn’t get that one too. Have too look at the bright side I guess. Now to see what else is missing.

Thanks all

Just protect yoursel don’t wait another day. A small safe anyone can jyst pick up and walk away with. A big safe well ma make you subject to armed robery. Like polly said someone you might know or they might tell some one..or so and so has this or that. A buried water proof safe with a key and something to protect it from rust and cenmented in..just in case. That no body knows about but perhaps a letter to someone trusted tell them you have a letter to tell them what you want done if something should happen thats all, and not to speak of it to anyone because its prevy between you and them.

Polly it is hard to me too, not to be trusting. Because we don’t think like that it doesn’t occur to us they would, till something like this happens. And your right, don’t know always what was totally lost. I guess first important thing would be do you have any spare keys missing, ID too for future problems.Im thinking about a survellence camera as well as a heavy gun safe to put things..like guns lol..as well as expensive cameras ect. that I don’t want to ..have to dig up..if I need them right away lol also. For simpler things a bolt locked solid wood closet door. Yes people do watch you come and go. Thats what happened in LA twice, the broke windows to get in. A dog does make you safer when your home cuz they can hear someone sneaking in quicker than you can and can alet you even in the middle of the night. Some guy tryed to break inth middle of the  nite as I fell asleep on the couch. My dog rudely but protectivly  jumped on me and was barking feroushly clawing at the window behind me. I was able to react just fast enough to see the back of a tall black haired man with a cap on running around the courner of my house to the street.Fighting the dog who didn’t want me to go out but did, he was gone so he ran or hid. But did find some people next store were camping in a foreclosed house, may have been them. Just have to be carefull even if you don’t like to live like that I guess.

grin @ 18:32 pm. $CDNX

Hi Grin,

That CDNX chart’s volume speaks VOLUMES to me. Look back before 2006 at the more or less normal action and the volume that created it (about 200 million shares traded per week)

Now look at the completely different action of the CDNX from the top in 2006 until now, and ask yourself how this action can be possible when the average weekly volume has increased over 5 times what it was up to that point, or average volume of over a BILLION weekly shares traded, while the entire sector goes to hell. We hear all the talk about no interest in the sector and how the shares trade by appointment, etc., but the record clearly shows a HUGE volume increase.

Even a blind man could see that this is only possible through (naked) shorting every trade by probably 2 or 3 to 1, and forcing the price down and down and down to where it is today.

Now I ask you to tell me when Henry Paulson came on board as Secretary Treasurer of the US??? Pretty convenient timing I would say. And with his Goldman Sachs connections and influence, I don’t think it is a stretch to say that this plan was orchestrated and implemented by him/them.

And my next question is, when did all the on line brokers drop their commissions to rock bottom??? Another timing coincidence???, or part of a grand scheme to tear the sector into little pieces in preparation for _________________________??? You’ll have to fill that one in. All in my opinion of course, but that whole picture smells like rotten fish that has been sitting in the sun for a week.

Polly Metallic (18:49) Now that’s one of the better posts I have seen on Goldtent for some time. Thanks.

Polly,

My kind of gold loving gal

Come on guys, life is short! You have more friends here then anywhere. Keep everything in perspective and continue posting please. Every view has importance way more then you will ever know.

And Polly, If the Mr Metallic is ever away for an extended period of time -> let us know  ;)

 Powers

Ferret, if you are out there, your posts are most enjoyed, accurate, and appreciated. Currently planning a trip to Australia (Perth), ever been to the West Coast?

A few words from Aunt Polly

I just want to add my comments to others,’ urging the disgruntled posters who have left the Tent (or at least stopped posting) to return.  Let’s face it, people only get worked up over things that mean the most to them. It’s the subjects that are nearest to our hearts that matter most, and “being right” or at least being given a fair hearing, is very important to all of us. Naturally, tempers run high over these critical, heart-felt issues, and we need to cut each other some slack and calmly agree to disagree at times.

We discuss all the most volatile emotional landmines here at the Gold Tent: investments, religion and politics. People can be pretty senstitive about their beliefs and choices, especially when it comes to bad financial decissions. Criticism, even when meant to be helpful or instructive, can be very painful. We need to be supportive of one another. There are enough people on the outside to consider enemies; let’s not make enemies of those here who should be our family and friends.

I have found posters here to be very polite and considerate to me. We may not always agree, but you never attack me. I think part of this is because men are less hostile and agressive toward women. They take a softer approach in disagreements, and are more patient and polite. I suggest to you that you start treating everyone here like a woman, LOL!!!  Pretend, if you must, that the poster you disagree with is a nice little old lady to whom you feel compelled to show kindness and respect. Will it really kill anyone here to disgree agreeably? If you could only share your differences with respect and tact, there would be far fewer hard feelings and far fewer people leaving the Tent.

Forgive me for saying this, but I sometimes wonder what kind of marriages you guys have! Have you never learned in your relationships to fight fair? To compromise? To discuss differences without insults and name calling? If you HAVE mastered these skills, please apply some of the same principles here at the Gold Tent. If not, please contact Aunt Polly for marriage counselling and advice ;-)

McKewen comments earlier today

I thought it really brought the context of this chart into light.

and seeing the cdnx:xau make a 4th monthly touch of the uptrend here brings a picture together for me at least.

I believe in miracles

Goldielocks, sorry to hear about what happened to you…Worse than the stuff that was taken is the intrusion into your personal space ..Cretins !

goldielocks

Goldielocks. You have my sympathy, too. I would be spooked by what happened. I’m glad you are unharmed, as possessions can be replaced. Your life and health are the most important concerns.

It’s a good idea to have a security system, camera surveillance etc. but not everyone can afford it, or will be bothered to go to all that trouble. A few years back we were burglarized by a FRIEND. Yes, I know: some friend! He used to watch our house and feed our cat while we were on vacation. Unbeknown to us, he made himself a spare copy of our key and kept it. Then while we were at church Sunday mornings, he used to slip in and steal things, bit by bit. He thought we wouldn’t notice. And we didn’t for a long time. We caught on right before leaving on vacation one time and had already committed to having him watch the house. We called in the police, got their advice and “set him up.” When we returned we knew what was missing, but still had only circumstantial evidence. The next step was to catch him beyond all doubt. We set up multiple video cameras, inside and outside the house and got him on tape the following Sunday. The police were so excited they were all but dancing. Now they had enough evidence to arrest him.

The good news is that he got convicted as a felon and we got most of our stuff back, and money for some items that were long gone. The bad news is that he probably stole more than we could remember and list, so who knows how much he really “got away with.”
