You can never have enough now can you.  Do I wish I was currently 100% in the fizz — hellll NOOO.  Do I think I can manage with what I have if the world implodes back to the stone age ?– yes, but it won’t make up for it. 

The XAU and GLD hit nearly a 1.1:1 relationship today.  Before the bull took off in 2000 the ratio hit 1.58:1 at its lowest.  Just to repeat, this is the lowest it has been in 30 or 35 years I believe.  Am I fizzed off that I bought the PM farm with bloody banker profits and proceeds from  various insurance policies along the way down?  Nooooooo way.  If it goes down further will I buy more? — helll yeah.  Do you think the guys with 100% fizz are going to the local coin shop to cash in and buy some XAU stocks  tomorrow? - not a chance.  Do I think they are ever going to buy XAU stocks ?– well maybe up near the top of the mania stage when they see the good ones go up 40 or 50x from here.  Do I think the XAU will go to zero this year?  another: no way.    Do I think that TITEOTWAWKI?  Nope.   

  Do I think that we are getting closer to first real bear trap in the PM stocks?  Oh yes, I do.

If I can get some time in a few days I will go back a couple of years (I have the notes) and post what the spreads have been. That post of a couple of days ago just went back one year. I think we will find the normal spread is about $200.

PS: Without a doubt the shortage of bullion coins on the market has had an impact on the price of these coins. If the supply line loosens up and dealers start to restock their inventory of bullion to meet the demand I would expect to see the spreads of Sts revert to a more a normal level.

…we have been amazed that it took so long
….hardly anyone we know outide the tent ..had a clue
…we tried to tell them..but their eyes just glazed over…everybody had it pretty good….no need for conspiracy goldnut theories

3……Even though we knew this was comming..we didnt know when !
….now that its here and we predicted it…we should be doing well financially…but except those with mostly Phys…we are not…we have been creamed …..in the PM Shares…….hoisted on our own pettards for playing their game Tooooo long
…Many of us played a game of Chicken and lost….we knew the game was rigged..but we tried to beat them anyway..and got crushed…
…Rambus and SOEE and others warned us….but I for one wold not listen…..as I would not listen again had I a do over
….dont get me wrong….I have been in this market for 12 years now….and there was NEVER ever a time when I would have slept at nite being less than 100% in…..up until this wicked period we have just had that is………..in hindsight I would have loved to believe the bears and got out near the 520 or 480 HUI tops….BUT….I could not believe that in this period of obvious Financial Turmoil..the gold shares could be so savaged…
..Equiz and I and others often debated how Gold stocks would do in a market meltdown….Equiz you were right…but it happened bass ackward..Gold Stocks Lead the market Down…even though Gold and for a while Silver held up well !
…those tricky manipulative Cretinic monsters from Hell….they suckered us …
…Personally…I was very Bullish and discounted Rambus warnings…armed with dozens of previously very successful Opinions from all over the Goldbug Universe…and I would do it again….no offence Rambus….
…also Moose is claiming guruship…and rightly so..

…So to all those I argued with.that this could never happen to HUI….I say…You Told me So…and eat my last piece of Humble Pie !

4….On the Physical Gold Side….I am VERY Happy to Have some..and wish I had More..at a time like this (well actually there has never been a time like this )

5….Going Forward…I see 2 scenarios possible now…thanks to the Deflation Camp

….One…we are going to have a compete meltdown and grinding halt to the financial system..any day now….in which case the 50% Physical portion of the PF will quickly become 100%……and I will be damn glad for it !

..or

Two….we will be soon over this “defationary scare”…a cylical bear in the Secular Bull…which will continue with a vengence..In which case Both Halfs of the PF will Prosper….that would be very good

6…..We actually dont know which scenario will play out….but I am rooting for Two..of course….rooting for the FED…..its a god awful predicament..but I do hope they can hold it together somehow…never thought i’d say that !

…..In Summary…..Its 50 - 50.

The spreads just keep getting bigger !!

I think that watching the spreads of these generic Sts is a good indicator as to what the public is doing. When gold is moving either up or down it is hard to tell who is doing the buying and selling but when the price of these coins start to rocked upwards…..THE PUBLIC IS BUYING….I highly doubt that there is much institutional money flowing into this market. Amazing the spread can increase by $85 in less that a week.

…lets pull the pin on that Sucker !
