Congrats on the new grandchild! I’m approaching my mid 50’s and so far I’ve not been blessed with any. Can’t wait….it’s gotta be grand spoilin’ a grandchild. It sounds like you and your son have little to worry about if the world goes to hell in a handbasket. Self-sufficiency is a good practice to have some knowledge on. I imagine guys like us will do just fine. When I was a kid we seldom had to go to a store. We grew most of our own food and my mother made most of the clothes…..but I’d hate to have to go back to those days. I can if I have to.
It does look the hedgies are on their last legs….Can’t happen to a better bunch. Where do you think the massive pile of dollars in T-bills will head first? I sure hope a little of it heads back into the pms. The Comex fiasco looks like blowup of biblical proportions. I can’t imagine that paper gold being priced so far under the real thing can continue. I can’t imagine why two or three of the largest pm dealer/buyers don’t just clean the place out and end the bogus pricing scheme.
I don’t imagine I’ll be prepaying for any fertilizer for spring application. I think the prices have a long way to go south. So far fertilizer prices are not really reflecting the big decreases in the nat gas and crude price reductions….Plus with the grains taking such a kick in the ass….I hate to get stretched this early. As you said….we need some price recovery in the grains or some guys are gunna be in a swamp full of alligators. What a diffference a year makes, huh? You warned that the toppy grain prices were an accident waiting to happen. I sure hope we are seeing the lows.
Take care and all the best.——aggie.
ps—-my sister in law and husband live in Junction…..about 80 miles northwest of San Antonio. They have one of the prettiest ranches I’ve ever seen.
