that’s not my total interpretation of the way the system works but we don’t have long to wait to see how things shake out. when the physical at retail ran out, i assumed there would be a short squeeze on the futures. then i thought, why would they squeeze for more fiat? these people have enough fiat to drain all the retail physical in the world, why wouldn’t they drain what’s left in storage then pick up the miners for practically nothing. whoever these people are, they can have the entire gold market cornered in another 60 days.

they already have all the gold at retail, delivery on the december contract would get what’s in storage, and the miners are at give away prices. what little that’s left will not be expensive, it will be priceless. redneck rules of order state that whoever has the gold gets to determine that order. i have a little voice telling me that a relatively small group of people are about to assume a very powerful role in the world. these people have large piles of fiat and a safe place to store the physical and access to a system to purchase miners while hiding their tracks. i wonder what group of people have those resources to act that quickly?

it also appears that they have targeted gold and just allow silver to tag along or they will move on silver later. at the price of gold, the gold/silver ratio should be quite different than it is now.

it’s very obvious to me that we don’t have long to wait. take a long look at the prices of farm commodities. our worst nightmare is after they get the gold, they make a run at food. call me a paranoiac if you want, just wait until after march 09.

our sleazy pear-politicians are in crisis management and not addressing the problem. this is like curing a redneck alcoholic by giving him champagne instead of moonshine. it sure feels good going down but the problem is the same the next day. i am proud of my old home town politician serving in the us house of representatives. he voted no on every bailout bill. probably didn’t hurt that he has on oil and gas boom in his district and the financial fallout hasn’t hit here yet.

Of course, you are right. One size does not fit all and your asset list is as valuable as anyones. I include such items and comforts in my own. I still think it prudent to also protect that which I worked for all these years from the clutches of those who believe they know better how to dispense my sttuff than I do.

What is an asset to you may not be an asset to me, therefore, is it wise to do a one-size-fits-all solution?  I want to be warm on a cold winter day so I will need to obtain a method of heating that doesn’t depend on oil or gas…therefore, I intend to sell however many gold coins it takes to accomplish that end.  I’m not in any dire rush to do so this winter and will wait upon the price of gold to rise before cashing in.  So for me, being warm in winter is an asset…for me, having nutritious food at my disposal is an asset.  As to the kitties, who have taught me much about being…having plenty of cheese, salmon, mahi mahi, and pussycat crunchies while enjoying the benefits of a warm house is a piece of heaven…and I’d consider that an asset.  Peace to you.

Irish - A story I think you will like.

This morning saw this in the Boston Globe.  It’s about a retired Boston Police Officer who recently passed away.  Was on the force for 40 years.  This reporter who knew him wrote this piece.

Gas Lines of the 70’s ???

let’s see; “opec cuts”

foreigners refuse to sell US Oil, because “We are Killing their currency”

World War III breakout .. Sorry, Gas Station closed for “K” winter ..

THEN WHEN DO WE RUN SHORT OF OIL

You cannot get credit to load a cargo and bring it from point A to point B. Credit does not exist. 60 sovereign countries cannot get a letter of credit to buy oil.

Ike @ 21:42 pm

That’s a good one Ike.  I’ve sent it to some Nervous Nellie friends.

Time may be rapidly running out to be proactive and protect ourselves for the future. If this analysis is true, the dollar loses as much as 75% of value, and gold confiscation is in the minds of the DC Gang of Thieves. several questions must be asked/ The dollar falls-it must fall against another measure of “value”, another currency. What currency or currencies will be rising and will exchange in dollars be allowed before the 15th meeting. The premium on numismatic coins is very high. I have some pre 33 coins. Will British Sovereigns be included? Collectibles such as .9999 Maples, Buffalos, etc. safe from the crooks? I worry about mostly bullion bars 0f 1 and 10 oz, Eagles, and maples, and other bullion coins. This is adangerous game we play and the trick will be to hold something of value until the panic and hysterical media driven frenzy subsides. Any other tangible assets that will serve a valuable function following the clearing as the smoke is worth considering, Is platinum, rhodium, palladium, liquid mercury, etc be worth a look. No matter what a few weapons one is familiar with, and some practice may prove to be the best insurance policy for the family and assets available. Also, there are many books available from military surplus outlets, Soldier of Fortune, even the Anarchist Cookbook with valuable tips on protecting what belongs to you. Common sense goes a long way-be prepared for every scenario you can think of. The asset protection is what concerns me most-I accept that I will have no influence on government, bureaucrats, or their hired thugs and implemental policies (always for a noble cause of course). But I accept as well that here are area I make A difference in the longevity, comfort, and wealth of my family and a few friends. There are other avenues available for the adventurous. for avoidance of all the above, but I draw the line on a public forum at what I have already posted. TQ.I read that piece.very interesting and scarry

.my question is…………….if the US Dollar is gaining value because there are trillions less of them due to the SM Meltdown and deritives……….how come the Euro and Loonie and Pound and Aussie are Losing value.there’s Trillions of them disapearing too !.and not nearly as much in Canada and Australia being Replaced as in the US !

So far we have Deflation in Japan and US and Inflation in alll the other countries…..

…and what about Japan……are there really LESS Yen.in the world now ?…making the Yen rise in value…?

The Yen carry Trade Unwind is bringing Yen Home.so there should be more of them no ?

I dont really get it !

just the title of that post caused me to use the wheel.

Ferret, I once created a halloween cartoon with all of the dead stockpicks as tombstones in a graveyard and him whistling past his fractalized picks. I lost it in a computer crash or I would resurrect it from the dead tonight.
