Hey Bill,
My best buddy just received $ 70,000. (Finally, after six weeks) of Francs that came from Europe. (Mixed Angels, Nap’s, roosters, sovereigns, etc.) They were supposed to be BU grade…these things were HORRIBLE!!!
Scratched, badly worn and some light in weight, some crusted and unreadable, some were defaced by what looked to be caused by a razor blade, or knife; and some where even stamped with numerals using a metal stamp!
We’ve been dealing with this house for quite awhile, and never had this result before.
These weren’t from the bottom of the barrel; they looked like they were used to hold the barrel together!!
All where 1800’s…but please!
D.C.
I asked $70,00 of what?
$70,000 of what: Gold 20 Franc Napoleons’ mostly, some angels, Roosters, Swiss francs’, British Sovereigns.
The original order was for Swiss Francs, but it was more than obvious that they (in Europe) filled the order with what ever they could lay their hands on; quality was defiantly a secondary concern.
Most of the order was “Nasty”, however the ‘Angels” seemed to be the better of the lot. “Nasty” or not, their now safely in hand!
I’m more than sure we’re not the only ones that are experiencing this phenomenon!
It’s a really Great Sign!
