My brother in law is a big hunter. Just had some slow roasted moose roast a few weeks ago.
When that Saskatoon billboard started circulating on the net, the local radio station found out where it was from. I think a restaurant somewhere in Kentucky or oklahoma I can’t remember. They talked to the owner and asked why he called it that, he said he had come up here hunting a few times, and when he opened the restaurant he that it would be a cool name!
what about it
it’s been sunny here for days
The Kookaburra sounds like a mad witch on a still dark night, except the kookaburra starts up in the morning when you’re trying to sleep in.

All Tenters, Americans or not, have a good day tomorrow. Thanksgiving is a good excuse to remember everything that we have, all the good stuff in life, especially the people close to us.
If you travel, slow down and drive the speed limit, stay off the cell phone when behind the wheel and pay attention, no matter what you’re driving
Watch out for deer
Of course
If you’re flying commercial hopefully you won’t see stuff like this or worse
If you’re flying a small plane tomorrow, be sure to land only where it’s appropriate
Try not to be too stupid if you drink

hahaha sounds like you’re allergic to the place or something, FGC. No, actually I haven’t been to Saskatoon, I ‘borrowed’ that photo. I guess I should state that kind of thing.
Although I haven’t been to Saskatoon, once I did fly a hot air balloon from outside of Calgary over to around Moosejaw. It was cool because normally we land those things with plenty of fuel reserve, but in this case I was making a special distance flight and was flight testing a new insulating design idea I came up with. It worked great, got about twice the time out of the same amount of fuel. The kicker was that toward the end of the flight in Saskatchewan, the fields were huge, with no powerlines in sight, so it was possible to float along on just vapors until the very last bit of propane was gone before landing.
Another noteable event from that flight took place in a restaurant with my chase crew. I found out firsthand how very friendly the folks in Moosejaw can be. A local guy walked into the men’s room the same time I did and struck up a friendly conversation with me. That was nice, until he went into a stall, sat down and tried to continue the conversation! I walked out of there laughing and scratching my head. He musta scratched his head, too, wondering about why Americans are so unfriendly ![]()
