Glad to see you survived the weather change so well, and quite a weather change at that. But you are quite a trooper anyways.

“HA ! Laugh all ya want at our puny snows but its gonna be -8c tonite and what the hell is that in Farenheit cuz I dunno but it’s flipping cold”
That would be about +18F. Shoot… I used to XC ski in a sweater in that heat! Never even used the ‘Long Johns’ until it got down below zero (-18C). Out in the plains for two months midwinter it stayed below -28C, and the coldest night I ever saw… and had to go work outside in it for an hour… was -51C. That was temperature… not windchill.
I know… my brains are frozen. Why else would I do this?
Someone called me and told me today that hospitals are getting 9000 each person they hire from overseas like Africa to work, threatening American workers jobs and wages. When she finds the article again she will send it to me.
hi buddie…………. no, i would never do that. a mafia kiss maybe. hey—– i am great and still loving life….. i always said that stocks was the casino …. fun and games. my paper is down 70% but my physical is making me one of maya’s east coast partners. then we have my other partner, ms moggy, a georgia peach. hey we got it all together—fun -in-the-sun hide-a-way down south of the border; mountain retreat with fresh running water; and just maybe a stash of kona coffee.
there are just so many invisible manipulators involved - the Madoffs, the types who run companies like MGA and PNP, the junkie newsletter writers who promote these types, and the so-called securities regulators who are supposed to keep some eye on these types - that it is impossible to be objective in really knowing what one is doing when deciding to buy any given PM or uranium or energy-related stock. It is a crap shot, the dimensions of which I cannot fathom and dont think I will ever fathom. Therefore, I favor the simpler route, which is to buy physical silver and gold to the limit of one’s investment budget. Cheers, all.

document.getElementById(”articleAuthor”).style.display = “none”; Nearly 2000 mine workers will lose their jobs following a decision by Aquarius Platinum to suspend operations for a minimum of six months at its Everest mine. This was as a result of ground instability due to subsidence that had occurred over an upper area of the mine, the company said in a statement on Monday. “Following a comprehensive assessment of the options available to mine management, and primarily focussing on the future safety of the mine and its personnel, the decision has been made to suspend operations for a minimum of six months,” Aquarius Platinum said. “This is considered a prudent time frame that will permit assessment of the best way forward for the long-term.” According to Stuart Murray, CEO of Aquarius Platinum, the decision to suspend operations was regrettable. “However it is the right one because it will allow us the time we need to ensure that Everest is brought back into production in the safest manner for the long-term, rather than rushing into a short-term high-risk decline rehabilitation project. “The suspension of operations also places the least strain on the South African business as a whole at a time of low platinum group metals prices,” he said. “Regrettably this decision also means that the majority of the workforce (approximately 1950 people) will be retrenched.” The process of consultation with the workforce and the unions had already commenced.
SHUT FOR FURTHER SIX MONTHS
Aquarius Platinum’s Everest mine will remain shut for a further six months and 1,950 people will lose their jobs as a result.

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) -
Metals miner Aquarius Platinum said on Monday the Everest mine it had suspended last week due to geotechnical problems would remain shut for at least six months.
Aquarius also said it would, as a result, it would layoff 1,950 people, the majority of the Everest workforce.
“Following a comprehensive assessment of the options available to mine management, and primarily focussing on the future safety of the mine and its personnel, the decision has been made to suspend operations for a minimum of six months,” it said in a statement.
Aquarius said it had found out that a subsidence had occurred over an upper decline area of the mine. High rainfalls might have contributed to the accident, it said.
Chief Executive Stuart Murray said the company had opted on the suspension rather than rushing into a short-term high-risk decline rehabilitation project.
“The suspension of operations also places the least strain on the South African business as a whole at a time of low platinum group metals prices,” he said in the statement. (Reporting by Agnieszka Flak)

Hello..I was thinking about you today..I was on the bordergold web and I noticed that they now have silver M/L’s in.. But the spread was so large, I thought it was a misprint
so I called them…Nope not a misprint..(Like I didn’t already know that..lol ) but over 5 bucks premium ..Lady on the phone sed they are hard to get blah,blah,blah.. and she could only give me a limited amount blah, blah, blah…Then I went to Coloradogold and AMPEX websites and the prem over spot silver is $4- $4.50 US so I guess it’s not just bordergold that is gouging or whatever you wanna call this mess..
I hope you don’t get too down but I understand how you feel about putting so much faith in JD and then for it all to turn to mush..As always, the strong will survive..Hard to believe the brutal collapse of some of the former darlings.I hope you reconsider about just lurking…I appreciate your well thought posts.. take care AuGirl

We shall move forward and hold the line as well as we can…
I got someone to hook up with us on the bio diesel ..I’ll call ya
Equisetum — Don’t be so hard on yourself. I always appreciate your posts. One could have put his money on almost anything in the tiny uranium or junior mining sector and had your head handed to you all the same. I was a bit miffed when I read on another forum (which I did not confirm) that this CEO paid himself a $20M CAD bonus during 2007 after PNP collapsed and I don’t like this idea of having a hedge fund (PNP) which buys stock in a company that he runs (MGA) which he probably got stock option or warrant benefits as the price rises. I did not realize this relationship existed which is my fault. This seems clearly like a blatent conflict of interest and I’m a bit jacked to see this stuff going on up there. Of course the horse is far out of the barn and one needs to do their own DD and all that…but still where the heck are the regulators if this is the case?
…. the tide is turning in the PM stocks and an ounce of gold is still an ounce of gold (silver too)!
the head-honcho of Pinetree and Mega Uranium is up to now. I noticed that SOEE commented yesterday on Goldtent that he too was fed up with this Canadian bullshit from the CEO of PNP and MGA. I agree with SOEE’s disgust, and am embarrased that I ever said anything positive on Goldtent about these two companies. I had blinkered faith that someone so famous as J. D. had some reputable inside information when he for many months promoted MGA and PNP, and I now apologize if any of my comments led others in the past to buy into MGA or PNP. These two stocks are still in our family portfolio, in the hopes that there will some day be some level of recovery from the current lows of these two stocks. But the experience here has totally shattered my faith in writers of subscription financial and investment newsletters. My current disgust applies as well to many of the guru things I have read about putting one’s money into PM stocks. As a result, for the foreseeable future I will just linger as a lurker on Goldtent, perhaps just throwing in the odd skit about HUI’s next visit to the FGC dental office, and an occasional friendly interchange with Farmboy. For most everything else in the investment world relating to the PM and uranium markets, I think any attempts by me to add perspective or to make sense of these markets on Goldtent is futile and a waste of time. Cheers. Equiz.
p.s. winedoc, I did see your recent question to me a few days ago about ECU and SLW’s imagined future role in the silver resource under ECU’s present control. I have no specific information on what role ECU’s silver resource might play in SLW’s future, so I cannot offer any meaningful response to your question.
