Thank you for your kind words, and for taking the time from your busy schedule to post.
I think that Martin Armstrong, McHugh and now Leap2020 all expect that sometime in March the bottom can fall out of the markets, and that the public mood will deteriorate measurably. I think that Cyclist also is thinking along those lines.
In light of that, I am surprised to see comments here on Hui going to big numbers. Discussions of new highs in the HUI in light of the above seems misguided at best, and delusional or worse. I am surprised to see so few comments that if four with good track records all agree that March could likely see the end of another bear market rally, the time to own stocks of any kind is rapidly coming to a close.
It is not necessary to be able to verify any of their methods; those with a good eye could spot irregularities or errors in their work. But this has not been forthcoming; and their work has been available for many weeks, even months and years. I would be surprised that any would bet against them.
In light of the posts from some that in some cases 80% of over a million dollars has been lost over the past bear phase, I am questioning the thinking that guides those who post bullishly when they have been so wrong for so long. I think it a disservice to post excessively and daily such bullish views when for so long these views have been contradicted by the market.
I have no quarrel with those who would post valid technical reasons for presenting a bullish opinion. I have offered this in the past, and have offered bearish interpretations in the past as well.
I think it dangerous now to post bullish opinions here when we appear to be only months away from a new bear trend of major proportions. On the other hand, one can review and study McHugh’s newsletter, and the others, and come to some conclusions on one’s own. It has been this kind of comment that I thought I would see, and that has been lacking.
Maya; thanks for the posts on the crash course. Like so many here, I am busy and would miss these if it were not posted here at the Tent.
Fully; try NaturalCalm. It is very fine magnesium; find it at Ambrosia on Glen Cameron just north of Steeles off Yonge Street. Or your local health food/natural healing store. Talk to one of the Naturopaths there about it. Helps relax tense neck muscles, calves, etc., good for the bones, limits the lows of depression, etc., according to some I talk to. … . I am not looking to talk about all the issues; I have a plan in play; just noticing that four of the best I have read are not mentioned much; and all the investing chatter seems to be focussed on price and not time; and it seems that time is the key here.
Another issue is that implied in the work at Shadowstatistics.com; there we see that inflation has been roughly 8 to 10 % above the phony gov. stats for over ten years. So even those who did not lose in stocks have been taken to the cleaners when they thought they were playing it safe.
Sinbad @ 22:53 pm on December 21, 2008; thank you for your thoughtful post. I am glad that my posts have been well received by you and others, and that they may have helped save you time, especially as time is so short.
tothemoon @ 21:55 pm on December 21, 2008; thank you for your post. I see your handle at Cyclist’s thread. I wish you the best of trades, and am sure with his guidance we can cash up over the next couple of months, and be better positioned for the next decline. Yes 2014 as the middle of the Depression; this is similar to Armstrong and the Elliott Wave interpretation from McHugh. It will be interesting to see how all this changes the tone and tenor of posts here. Will people change their goals from vague buy and hope to more practical things like we see at Catherine Austin Fitts pages where she discusses local initiatives, local economy etc.
Especially if Kunstler is correct we will hopefully see more discussions about lifestyles that focus on the Conservor Society, on what were once known as the Manual Arts - toolcraft, wood shop projects, garden projects and so on.
LurkerSince95; thank you for your thoughts. Wishing you all the best, and may the Peace of He who came to teach us how to live be with you as we prepare to celebrate His birth and his Coming.
