TQ

I’m so glad to see the few ones left that were able to appreciate these hunting skills passed on from one generation to another. And to see how you can use these skills for survival in more than one way, shows you must know them well. I wish I knew more about them. Sometimes in the wild I will forget what foot prints I am seeing and no where near the days where I can tell anymore”how long they’ve been there some buy the dust that covered them but just on experience. I know what you are talking about and still do admire the true hunter and their skills. I have never eaten deer, had buffalo and bear. Had a hard time with the bear because I could get close to them without being killed. Don’t know if I can do that anymore, sometime ignorance..but not too much.. is bliss. I guess the reason being for when I was younger I had a pet deer at my grand parents farm till a hunter shot him. To this day even a few yrs ago bambi’s would follow me out of the woods and I would feed them bread. They would come out of no where. But they would run away when other people saw them and came around.  So I guess I could catch them easily but just don’t. I don’t think anythings wrong with hunting for food, and may try venison someday now.  My step father with a lot of American Indian in him said venison was good, he also had a stuffed deer head like so many of that era. My father athough part American indian I guess strove to use survival skills to incorporate into the so call civilized way of life and not much on hunting at all which ironically killed him in a gun accident and 12 gauge to the head. Possibly where my memory started to decline as I put guns down for awhile out of respect for him, but was never, no way anti gun except for those too hot headed to ever own one. I know this is all besides the point. Although I can say I don’t feel secure in this sort of hunting because I believe we have to be the hunter, not the hunted, and everyday they set the rules against us in their favor.Their own greed and corruption may near bring a end to the market. They are like a parasite that klls it’s host. Unfortunately the handshake is no longer to be trusted. And the constitution does not apply to wall street. So yes your way of thinking, is best especially in these volitile times. To be the hunter, and before the bear has a chance to come around and devour your catch, get out. I too wish you well and Merry Christmas and happy holidays, and lots of good things to eat..and good hunting.

DEFLATION REPORT

You know, in a deflationary period your dollar get’s stronger; So a friend went to Italy this summer and paid $25.00 for a plain Pizza…a mini pie, personal size. Another went to Switzerland..Big Mac Hamburger $ 11.00 plus.

Back at home, the great state of New York gonna tax soda at 18% ! And the Garden State Parkway will increase tolls from .70 to an even $1.oo.

Thank goodness we are in a deflationary period…Just imagine what it would be like otherwise.

Unusual spikes down in kitco silver last 2 nights

Anyone else notice the “smoke signal” spikes the last 2 nights on Kitco in the silver market?  Looks like they’re attempting a take down in price to quell demand.

The biggie gold-mining companies dont get much air-time on Goldtent, but

I notice in headlines today that at least some of them are in growth mode.  One headline  on Kitco news stated: “Franco-Nevada to buy stake in U.S. gold field for $103 M US.” and  another said “Iamgold takes 6.5 pct stake in Merrex Gold”.  And in the Globe&Mail today a headline said “Incoming Barrick CEO looks forward to ‘growing the company’ “.

I think we are in a long-term bull market for gold, so none of these quoted headlines surprise me, and it seems logical that the already established producers will just keep on getting bigger.  Of the three big players mentioned above our family investment account holds a position in only Iamgold.

The new CEO of Barrick is a 43-year-old accountant, Aaron Regent, who is replacing company founder and chairman , Peter Munk, who has been acting president and CEO  of Barrick over the past few months.
